This is a house of death.
I can't really talk about this vid properly on account of all the feelings, but oh god it is so sad and beautifully and amazingly edited.

A life well lived. Good dog.
Having never been a pet owner myself, I am a leetle less affected than lots of people, I'm sure, but this still leaves me totally verklempt.

Lastly, okay. WARNING: I am linking to a Daily Mail article. DO NOT read the comments, I repeat DO NOT. The content of the article itself is -- passable, by Mail standards, but it's not exactly brilliant either. However, there are some really adorable photos of a gay, transgender couple, their two sons and the third they're expecting next month. ♥ I meant it about not reading the comments, though.

Feministe: Feminism: Great For Marriage
Sociologists and economists say that financially independent women can be more selective in marrying, and they also have more negotiating power within the marriage. But it’s not just women who win. The net result tends to be a marriage that is more fair and equitable to husbands and wives.
Sex And Silence At Yale trigger warning
I began, nearly a year ago, to try—privately—to start a conversation with my alma mater that would reassure me that steps had been taken in the ensuing years to ensure that unwanted sexual advances of this sort weren’t still occurring. I expected Yale to be responsive. After nine months and many calls and e-mails, I was shocked to conclude that the atmosphere of collusion that had helped to keep me quiet twenty years ago was still intact—as secretive as a Masonic lodge.
FWD/Forward: For Cereal, Cute Overload?
Having an undeniably cute bunny whine about cutting minimizes and dismisses the very real pain of people who do self-injure. It implies that self-injury is a choice as superficial and changeable as a trendy hairstyle and that it’s done to fit into a trend. It’s not funny. And it’s certainly not cute.
Shakesville: Stray Animals warning for exceedingly high fail levels in quoted material
Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer is defending his comment which compared government assistance programs to "feeding stray animals."
Shakesville: No More Words
A Menifee, California, school district has banned the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Because the book contains the words "oral sex."

BECAUSE THE DICTIONARY DEFINITION IS SO AROUSING!
Errr, only not. Based on that kind of thinking, conservatives would have to outlaw the Bible as well. When I was six, one of my favourite stories was the entire Book of Revelations. It led to a rather awkward conversation with my (Catholic, conservative, slightly prudish) Mum about the "Whore of Babylon".... :)

Thanks for the warning on the Mail article comments. I might have read them otherwise. (Hope springs eternal.)
