Month of Awesome Women: Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)
Month of Awesome Women, week two:
Martha Jones | Kaylee Frye | Cara Mason | Jennifer Keller | Guinevere | Jadzia Dax | Olivia Dunham
Luna did not seem perturbed by Ron's rudeness; on the contrary, she simply watched him for a while as though he were a mildly interesting television program.

You know, I was trying to be somewhat serious and insightful at the beginning of this meme, but that is rapidly degenerating. Screw it.
LUUUUNA. MY FOREVER GIRL. What is glorious about her is that despite first appearances she is neither oblivious nor an idiot - she knows exactly how other people see her and has just decided not to care. So long as you're not badmouthing the Quibbler, at any rate!
She is the most fiercely individual character in the series whilst never actually being fierce about it. She does what she wants and follows the beat of her drum and is delighted when other people decide to join her. SO GREAT. Also she's brave and deeply caring and in general completely wonderful.

Asking Luna Lovegood if she would be willing to break a few rules was something like asking a Puffskein if it would be willing to have a go on the dance floor, Ginny decided early in their sixth year at school: in both cases, you would be asking the wrong question.
