Kaylee Frye
Kaylee! She really is made of sunshine and happiness. I adore her cheerfulness and how down to earth she is. She loves the simple pleasures - strawberries, sex, engine grease, friendship. She relentlessly believes in forgiveness, compassion and seeing the good in people, in spite of all the terrible things she's seen out there.
She bonds the crew together so beautifully, and it's often through her that we see the way they all care about each other. I love that she isn't a fighter and that she doesn't need to be, instead she's a badass in her own way in the engine room. And it makes me glad that her optimism isn't torn out of her, that she can keep her fairy lights and her wide-eyed hope and her pure, generous affection that make me love her so much.

I love love love her joy at life and the way she feels things so deeply and tries so hard to make everyone happy. I love that she can be a mechanic who is completely in tune with machines, and also fantasise about frilly dresses. I love the very individual relationships she has with each of the other crew members, and how much they all value her. And I love her smile :-)
