Personal Canon Meme
Ah, what the hey, when have you ever known me not to jump on a bandwagon?
Name one character from any fandom I know and I will give you three facts about them from my personal canon.
eta: Ok, calling a break for tonight. You can find Draco, Remus, Sirius, Lily, Minerva, and James all done already, I'll tackle the rest tomorrow - keep any suggestions coming in!

* Narcissa used to read to Draco - usually stories involving pureblood wizards doing noble deeds - right up until he left for Hogwarts. He missed that a lot in his first year.
* After the Buckbeak incident, he can't help feeling nervous around any animals larger than owls.
* He had chronic insomnia all the way through Sixth Year.

* Remus was mostly brought up by his dad, who taught him everything he could have wanted to know about not showing emotions. He always tried to make the best of Remus' lycanthropy, and even now Remus still thinks of him whenever a grumbling, ungrateful thought crosses his mind.
* Remus was made a prefect because it was believed he was less of a trouble maker than his friends. In reality, he was simply much better at not getting caught, as unlike James and Sirius he didn't feel the need to loudly boast about his accomplishments after the event. He toned it down after he got the badge, however, and even though he knew it was little more than a distant possibility he had hoped to be Head Boy. He has never admitted this to a single living soul, and was genuinely pleased for James to get it instead.
* He has always forgiven Sirius much too readily - he doesn't think Sirius ever knew just how shaken he was by the incident with Snape. When he saw Peter on the Marauders' Map, after the initial shock one of the first emotions he felt was relief that he would no longer have to loathe himself so much for clinging on to a hope that Sirius was innocent.

* He didn't always hate his family (though after he ran away, he often made out as though he had). When he found out Remus was a werewolf, and later when he became friends with Lily, he began to understand just how prejudiced they were.
* He worked out he was gay just after he realised he was hopelessly infatuated with James, which was the beginning of a long, hard year for Sirius. He attempted all kinds of extreme tactics to sort himself out, but in the end the feelings just faded away when he'd stopped trying.
* As far as he was concerned, the very best feeling in the world was flying over the countryside on his motorbike. He never experienced anything else like it.

* If James hadn't been such an arse off the pitch, the handsome and rugged Quidditch player look would have grabbed Lily a lot sooner. As it was, she was exceptionally glad in Seventh Year when she could finally admire his prowess in matches in peace.
* When she died for Harry, she knew exactly what it would mean. Charms had always been her strong point, after all.

* She has a book where she stores clipping from the Prophet detailing the doings of her former students. She always feels particular pride in the achievements of her Gryffindors, and she has never forgotten a student.
* She grew up in a small Scottish fishing village, and consequently is very skilled at gutting and filleting all manner of fish. This is a talent she has kept very much to herself over the years.
* Fighting a war without Dumbledore scares her more than she will ever admit. He was her hero when she was at school and he was preparing to fight against Grindelwald, and in her darker moments she does not believe they can win without him.

* James had a barn owl called Guinevere, who he was absolutely devoted to. He got in the summer before he started Hogwarts, and she ended up outliving him. She was the carrier of a great many messages to a certain Lily Evans.
* His parents could have lived a life like the Blacks - instead, his dad used to take his mum on dates to Muggle dances to escape the same old pureblood faces. When James first met Sirius, he spent a lot of time wondering what his life could have been like. However, after things started to fall apart with Sirius at home, he always felt profoundly grateful to his parents.
* He never meant to get married and become a father as young as he did, but like so many things in his life, it just happened. He didn't regret it for a moment.

* He believes himself to be much more technologically competent than he actually is - he think he'd be very good with computers and so on, just doesn't see the need to be all flash about it the way Crowley is. However, he has never once proved this belief.
* He never liked the flaming sword much anyway, and from then on he's been a bit nervous around fire.
* At the back of his mind, he believes he can save Crowley, and had several plans in mind, just in case, before they averted the Apocalypse.

* Peter was brought up halfway between the Muggle and Wizarding world. There have been many moments in his life when he's not felt entirely comfortable in either. But his Muggle knowledge was often one of his reasonably infrequent opportunities to really get one up on James and Sirius - he and Remus would often either act maddeningly superior, especially with regarding to understanding Lily, or else use at as the basis for revenge pranks after all of their underwear had been stolen and so on.
* Though he struggled to become an Animagus, he was a vital part of creating the Marauders' Map. The idea of being able to keep an eye of everyone's doings greatly appealed to him.
* He was a good member of the Order before he turned traitor, and he misses those youthful, idealistic days, though he thinks that anyone who believes they can defeat the Dark Lord is a fool.

* He was almost impossible to elicit a strong emotion from. His parents tried to get him to turn against Sirius, but he could never hate his brother. He thought he was a peculiarly Gryffindor kind of fool, and told him so, but hatred was out of the question.
* One of his favourite things to do was sail in a little boat that he owned at the Black family summer house. He loved the peace and solitude of going out into the waves alone.
* He never felt very certain about anything in his life, pulled by opposing forces in a world that was forever dark and strange, until the moment before his death, when he felt finally convinced that stealing the Horcrux had been the right thing to do.

* When he was younger, he had a certain aptitude for science. The Dursleys never paid any attention to it, and it naturally fell by the wayside once he started Hogwarts. Though no one has ever told him, it is yet another of the many ways in which he resembles his mother.
* He has a peculiar aversion to coconut. It's the one foodstuff he can't stand.
* Privately, and often almost subconsciously, he doesn't really believe he's going to make it through this coming year alive. It seems more and more as though he is living on borrowed time.

* He's actually very good, even by his own standards, at Herbology, but has long since decided it's a useless subject, much to Professor Sprout's regret.
* Even he's not quite sure he could explain what happened between him and his family, but he's really not convinced it's worth fixing.

* He's enjoying the 21st century very much indeed so far, and he might have had something to do with the creation of the commercial internet. Hell will come to see its potential, in time.
* In 6000 years, the Bentley was the only thing he ever really loved. However, he's more than a little concerned this is changing now, thanks to the Apocalypse that wasn't and a certain angel who happens to be around a lot of the time.

* She partly bought Crookshanks because he'd be better company than an owl, and with Lavender and Parvati always whispering together at the other end of the dormitory, or simply not being there at all, she sometimes feels a bit lonely up there without her friends.
* She never thought she'd have so much faith in someone her own age, but she trusts Harry, completely and absolutely, a feeling that has been growing for years. She never doubts for a moment he will find a way to defeat Lord Voldemort, though she worries about how much help she can really be to him.

Also, in another fandom, Ten.

* She didn't really, truly think her family would cut her off quite as much as they did when she married Ted, but the bravado proved to be very real, and she was more heartbroken over it than she really ever cared to admit.
* When war started brewing, Ted suggested going to live in the Muggle world. She was reasonably open to the idea, for the most part, until she considered childcare without magic and decided she couldn't.
* She had always been excessively fond of her degenerate rebel cousin, Sirius, and was on the constant lookout for ways to help him out a bit. When he was sent to Azkaban, she was scared that her whole family were even worse than she thought, and spent a long time reflecting if she might not have done the same, had things worked out differently.
The others on their way!

* He loved the normality of Stanford, so he kept telling himself. But he missed the thrill of hunting, and his old life, and sometimes had more than a passing longing for an event requiring him to handle a gun, or even steal a car.
* When he was young, he had complete blind faith and trust in Dean, even more so than his father. He thought his brother was somehow super-human.
* He's actually much more fond than he'll ever admit of being half-sleep in the Impala as it hums through the night, streetlights flashing overhead and his brother's stupid music blaring out. He's finally accepted that's as close to home as he's going to get for a while.
