+ halfamoon is starting up again on the first of February! Yaaay! It's a two-week multi-fandom celebration of female characters and it's awesome - it's the comm I made Glorious for last year. Sadly, I am already over-committed and will not be participating myself except in squee. ♥ female characters ftw! ♥

+ In celebration of the above, heathershaped was MEAN and asked her flist to name their top five female characters of all time. I inflict this punishment upon you all also! I approve your choices! Oh, B'Elanna - I don't think I could choose between her, Janeway and Seven, though, they are all dear to my heart.

Especially with all the Curzon references. I didn't even see the really queer episodes, but just her everyday outlook was awesome. I think that was part of the reason I was so disappointed with the change to Ezri.

I didn't get into Seven too much -- too much fanservice plus frank emotionalism, she tended to hit my embarrassment squick something awful. And Janeway was pretty damn awesome, but I like B'Elanna's personality and overall arc better, she had less self-imposed limitations.

Yes - just Sisko calling her 'old man' all the time was brilliant, and I always loved all the episodes with Curzon's old Klingon friends.

B'Elanna's arc was pretty awesome, and embarrassingly enough I was a hopelessly fangirly B'Elanna/Tom shipper, haha. I grew up on DS9 and Voyager, so I didn't really engage critical faculties at the time. I am so easy for robot chicks, however, and looking back, I'm pretty sure Seven had quite the impact at a formative age. *g*

Oh man, yeah, I was totally a P/T shipper. I loved Voyager a lot, but I drifted from DS9 after a couple seasons because it got way too soap opera-y and fight-y for my taste. I got back into it near the end because my friends were watching, but Voyager was a constant.

Man, I really need to *cough*acquire*cough* those shows...
