So, as you may have already spotted if you follow any number of Doctor Who fans anywhere on the internet, a mini episode was released today in the lead up to the 50th anniversary. It's AWESOME, and there are spoilers everywhere, which sucks.

Um, yes. What a wonderful, wonderful surprise! Prayer circle for a Nine cameo in the episode! Desperately hoping we get to see War!Doctor regenerating into him at least. And what else have they kept secret?!

Going to go see it in the cinema next Saturday, eeee I can't wait.

I am SO FUCKING HAPPY with this. I have longed for the Time War, longed for Nine backstory -- and frankly we are getting Nine backstory even if we don't get Nine.

And Nine is really Ten? Do we have to change the way we're counting now?

I really don't think so. This minisode makes it pretty clear that Eight's regeneration will not be going by the name of the Doctor. So Nine is still the Ninth Doctor. John Hurt is going by a different name entirely.

Hm, interesting thought. I was thinking more about the total number of regenerations, though I'm sure TPTB will handwave the "you only get 13" rule if the show's still doing well in a few years. (:
