Doctor Who 7x14

This is both your regularly scheduled blanketfort of squee and also a blanketfort of FEELINGS oh my god.

Let's see.

+ JENNY AND VASTRA. I ship it so hard and they are both so adorable and yaaaaay. *___* And Strax is the greatest, the whole Glasgow moment was brilliant.

+ CLARAAAAA. She's so wonderful, and I love how her mystery wrapped up. She chooses her own destiny by god! She knew what she was doing, she knew the consequences, and went for it anyway. And holy crap, the way they blended her in with previous Doctors made me shriek A LOT. SO AMAZING. Clara Oswald, Impossible Souffle Girl, I'm so glad she's sticking around. <33333

+ RIVER. OH GOD, MY HEART. So it is technically a Library fix it, because it demonstrates that she's not stuck in the Library forever, that she has opportunities to be elsewhere and to be near people she's connected to, but also it was just so devastating and I cried a lot. I loved her link with Clara, and presumably she has a connection to Jenny and Vastra too (I want to read THAT story), and ugh, her final scene with Eleventy. ;_____; But it is a fix-it, a bit, and she can come back again, and ALSO she totes has the ability to go visit her parents like this, so that's a thing.

Yeah, I loved it even when it was breaking my heart, because nothing newly tragic happened, you know? Just more heartbreak of things that were already heartbreaking, and some things made a little less so.

And Time War not!Doctor John Hurt. Yes please, give it to me.

... 50th anniversary time yet?!

I'm just trying to figure out if that's properly the Time War, or if John Hurt is technically the Valeyard or what.

My heart is full of Eleven/River feelings <3 That kiss was heartbreaking. And their goodbye... I don't think I could have hoped for better closure.

And Vastra/Jenny ! Oh that scene where Strax saves Jenny, Vastra is SOOO in love and I just... :D

I LOVED how Clara choose to go in the Doctor's timeline, SHE'S AMAZING ! I'm just a bit unclear, did she remember the Doctor or not ? Victorian Clara didn't seem to, but how did all of the other Claras save the Doctor if they didn't know him ??? I'm trying up to come up with an headcanon to explain this, like maybe the more real an echo of Clara is, the less she remembers what her purpose is.

I am also wondering why the Silence were so afraid of the Doctor going to Trenzalore. Is it because of John Hurt!Doctor ???

Yes, I think it might be something like that. I'm really curious to find out how much Clara remembers going forward about her experiences.

And given that when his timeline was being rewritten the whole of existence started blinking out, the Silence may actually have been trying to save the universe, in their own way.

Oh, interesting idea about the Silence. I hope it'll get cleared up in show, but it's probably that.
Of course, that'd be rather ironic, since they almost erased the universe by blowing up the Tardis ^^

I don't think this visit to Trenzalore was THE visit - i.e. the Fall of the Eleventh - because, well, he will clearly be there (again) at some time in his future where it becomes his grave, so I'm thinking it's that story that's still to come that the Silence were so afraid of.

Clara! I love that she chose to be the Impossible Girl. And River! It felt like a final goodbye to me, and it felt right how they did it. Jenny/Vastra! Eleven!

But my favorite part of the episode is the last minute and a half with John Hurt's not!Doctor Doctor. The writing there sent (good) shivers down my spine. I'm properly excited for the anniversary special now. Because holy crap I don't know what to think, but I love it.

Absolutely, Clara was just wonderful. I desperately hope this isn't the last we see of River, but I'm glad the characters (and us) got some closure on her death.

Oh yes, the Clara wrap up was so so great! It was a perfect idea and seeing her with all the other doctors AHHHHHH

And I was SO happy for the library fix it, sort of, with her being able to mind link and I can just see her inviting Amy and Rory to mental tea.

I've watched it twice now, and everyone is just wonderful! You know how there's this thing in Who fandom about who your favorite Doctor is, and who your favorite companion is? THEY ARE ALL MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!! ALL OF THEM! (Except Adam from Dalek and The Long Game. He was an ass. :-P)
