oh my god oh my god oh my god ahhhhhh SQUEE
THINGS I LOVED IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
+ AMELIA POND YOU DISASTER OF A PERSON. I can't even with you. The reason for her kicking Rory out was so Amy and it hurts my heart SO MUCH oh my god. AMY. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. Push Rory away because you've made the unilateral decision that kids are the be-all and end-all for Rory and if he won't leave out of guilt or whatever then she'll make him and oh, AMY. I can't with you. *buries head on desk, cries*
+ Brb writing all the post-episode fic dealing with all of this. OH GOD, PONDS, NEVER DO THAT TO ME AGAIN.
+ I need to watch it again for more of the Doctor characterisation but oh my god oh my god Eleventy can I hug you forever.
+ HOLY SHIT UNEXPECTED JENNA LOUISE COLEMAN WAS UNEXPECTED. YOU GUYS. THE NEXT COMPANION IS FROM SPACE. And, um, possibly a Dalek now? My brain has actually melted from the sheer wtf of that whole reveal - I couldn't believe she was in it and we didn't know, and now I don't even know what's going on. But, um, flirty science pilot genius queer space girl? SIGN ME UP. I am assuming until suggested otherwise that the 'just a phase' line referred to her attraction to boys. With the exception of ones called Rory. :D
+ OH MY GOD. THAT WAS AWESOME. There were so many great callbacks to other Dalek episodes - you stop becoming a Dalek through love! eee!
+ I am *fascinated* by the Daleks forgetting the Doctor and the idea that rather than him being a deterrent he just makes them worse.
+ oh god I don't even know I AM FULL OF SQUEE. And Amy and Rory are having mind-blowing makeup sex RIGHT NOW and that brings me joy.
The Blanketfort of Squee and Feelings is officially open! Come in, come in, have a cookie. <3

Oh Amy, how can you destroy my heart so quickly? Rory(Nina) too, bless him. So much love.
I quite like Oswyn. She has a fun name, she's quirky and clever and how are they going to get her back?
Amy/Rory kind of need all the fic and adopted kidlets.

Also, souffle and Carmen. These are going to become a THING. Am already working out ways in which he might be able to save her...

YES THIS. SO MUCH THIS. ALLLLLLL OF THIS!!!!
And I too assumed the "just a phase" phrase (hello awkward sentence!) was about boys too. asdfghjklasf!!!!!!!
OMG, the headtilt-wink at the end with Amy and Rory and his dance of dorkitude! I forgave the show entirely at that point for my heartbroken Ponds! with the divorce papers at the beginning.

Apparently it's an unpopular opinion, I haven't seen anyone thinking the same thing yet ^^
On the other hand, OSWIN ! i love her so much already omg :D:D:D All the parts with her were wonderful. And the Ponds making up were <3 of course.

The only problem here is that this is Amy, the queen of not being able to talk about feelings, and she doesn't actually want to cheat on Rory or anything that would hurt him like that, so all she's got is words. And she can't come up with anything more than 'I don't love you any more' and probably some stuff about being bored and Rory being boring and really vague platitudes. And Rory's angry and hurt and he's snappish, so she can react to that, but Rory's still a total pushover, so of course he's going to eventually roll over and do whatever she says, even if he still loves her.

I wonder how much of what Oswyn was saying about her past was real? If that's the same character as expected later, surely it can't have been? If that was her first space trip, how can she travel with the Doctor?

She's credited in future episodes with the character name Clara. So possibly she'll be a different person? IDEK.

And omg Rory celebrating with Amy going "I can see you" was my favorite thing.

It's so right (characterisation-wise) that Amy pushes Rory out before he can leave her. Her abandonment issues, man.

I need this fic like burning. Gah!
flirty science pilot genius queer space girl? SIGN ME UP.
Yep, me too. I liked that she was flirty in a playful way rather than the aggressive way that is more stereotypical. And what about a phase? I guess I missed that bit. I sort of thought she was properly bi/queer, because she said the thing about Nina but did seem at least vaguely interested in both Rory and the Doctor.
you stop becoming a Dalek through love!
Doctor Who goes a little crazy with the "stop being a monster via love" thing, but when they do it right, it's AWESOME. And it was awesome when Oswin did it. AHHHHHH.
And Amy and Rory are having mind-blowing makeup sex RIGHT NOW and that brings me joy.
OMG you're so right, that's what that was about with the eyes and the celebrating and the "I can see you," wasn't it?
*collapses into blanket fort* All the angst leading up to this episode and until they resolved things at the end wore me out. I'm actually serious. Well, I guess the first week of school didn't help, either. :P

Same here. IMO I'm thinking she might be bi, but's that just me because FHDKFA OMG YES BI/QUEER COMPANION PLZ.
brb shipping Oswin with all the main characters. xD

Oh Amy. Oh Rory. Rory, you have the self-esteem of a peapod.
I'm choosing to assume Oswin went through a phase of naming everyone she had a crush on Rory.

I totally assumed that the "just a phase" referred to boys. And on a more serious note, I find the whole thing about Amy's fertility interesting in light of the Christmas episode.
no subject
And do you mean in terms of Madge and her motherhood? I am interested; do tell. I suppose Amy's in the slightly odd/interesting position of having one kid, a daughter who is very much not in need of any mothering, and not being able to have more. (Oh, Amy.)
no subject
At the end of the episode, my biggest reaction was that it's about damned time that the whole 'we had a child but were robbed of raising her' was brought up in some damned fashion, even if they're going to displace the grief onto not being able to have more. And I have Thoughts about that - what if the reason for the Ponds' exit is that through wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff, Amy is able to get pregnant, and they leave the Doctor to gestate in peace?
no subject
Yes. This. I've been thinking this, too. What a mindfuck it must be for both of them, to discover that Amy was pregnant and they never got to know it -- that their child was stolen from them and they never got to raise her. Granted, the relationship they have with River is amazing, and something they probably couldn't have built had they known who she was -- but it's not the same as getting to raise a kid from infancy onward. When I heard the spoiler that there were troubles in paradise for them, I figured it was because their baby had been taken away and they were finally starting to deal with the impact and the fallout from that.

I am watching it RIGHT NOW, and I am -- omg. OMG. OH MY FUCKING GOD. With the -- Amy! and the reason for her kicking Rory out! and Rory being Rory! and Eleven! and omg, Oswynn. Where did the milk come from for the soufflés? OH MY GOD.
