oh my god oh my god oh my god ahhhhhh SQUEE

THINGS I LOVED IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:

+ AMELIA POND YOU DISASTER OF A PERSON. I can't even with you. The reason for her kicking Rory out was so Amy and it hurts my heart SO MUCH oh my god. AMY. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. Push Rory away because you've made the unilateral decision that kids are the be-all and end-all for Rory and if he won't leave out of guilt or whatever then she'll make him and oh, AMY. I can't with you. *buries head on desk, cries*

+ Brb writing all the post-episode fic dealing with all of this. OH GOD, PONDS, NEVER DO THAT TO ME AGAIN.

+ I need to watch it again for more of the Doctor characterisation but oh my god oh my god Eleventy can I hug you forever.

+ HOLY SHIT UNEXPECTED JENNA LOUISE COLEMAN WAS UNEXPECTED. YOU GUYS. THE NEXT COMPANION IS FROM SPACE. And, um, possibly a Dalek now? My brain has actually melted from the sheer wtf of that whole reveal - I couldn't believe she was in it and we didn't know, and now I don't even know what's going on. But, um, flirty science pilot genius queer space girl? SIGN ME UP. I am assuming until suggested otherwise that the 'just a phase' line referred to her attraction to boys. With the exception of ones called Rory. :D

+ OH MY GOD. THAT WAS AWESOME. There were so many great callbacks to other Dalek episodes - you stop becoming a Dalek through love! eee!

+ I am *fascinated* by the Daleks forgetting the Doctor and the idea that rather than him being a deterrent he just makes them worse.

+ oh god I don't even know I AM FULL OF SQUEE. And Amy and Rory are having mind-blowing makeup sex RIGHT NOW and that brings me joy.

Mmh, I didn't like the divorce part much, it did seem a bit of out of character to me. While I can buy Amy would try something like it (breaking up with Rory *for his own good*), I can't believe Moffat actually had them ready to divorce. It's too much too soon, I somehow can't believe they'd be to that point so quickly. Sure, it was feels-worthy, but it felt too soapy for me, you know ?
Apparently it's an unpopular opinion, I haven't seen anyone thinking the same thing yet ^^

On the other hand, OSWIN ! i love her so much already omg :D:D:D All the parts with her were wonderful. And the Ponds making up were <3 of course.

Hang on, THAT was Jenna Louise Coleman? Boy, I really have been avoiding spoilers, I never realised. (Casting spoilers are the ones that don't usually bother me too much.) OK, the whole episode looks way different from I thought then. (I was bracing myself for a Moffat-sexism firestorm over the portrayal of Amy and Oswyn.)

I wonder how much of what Oswyn was saying about her past was real? If that's the same character as expected later, surely it can't have been? If that was her first space trip, how can she travel with the Doctor?

I WILL JOIN YOU IN THE BLANKETFORT! I KEEP GOING TO MAKE A SQUEE POST, BUT I HAVE TOO MANY FEELINGS TO PUT INTO WORDS, AND ALSO SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HATING IT THAT IT FEELS PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE.

It's so right (characterisation-wise) that Amy pushes Rory out before he can leave her. Her abandonment issues, man.
