vid meme, lend me your femslash!
Day 1 - A vid that made you start watching a brand new show
Day 2 - A male character study vid you love
Day 3 - A female character study vid you love
Day 4 - An ensemble vid you love
Day 5 - A vid everyone should see at least once
Women's Work by Luminosity and sisabet (Supernatural)
Okay, my 'everyone' here is very caveated - if you have triggers related to graphic, sexualised violence against women, then this is not the vid for you.
I find this vid profoundly disturbing to watch. I'm also very, very glad that it exists. It's a damming portrayal of some of the worst of Supernatural, but the worst thing is that it's so easy to imagine many other sources that have more than enough material to make similar vids. The issues about representation of women that this vid raises are ones I feel very strongly about, and so this presents a visceral argument that I'd like a great many people to see. I generally subscribe to the notion of 'comfort the disturbed, disturb the comfortable', and this certainly accomplishes the latter - well, it's disturbing all around, really. It's also a really excellent example of how much vidding is capable of.
---
On a totally different and much lighter note, I realise that is Femslash Day and unfortunately I have nothing to offer at the moment! This ought to be rectified.
Give me some ladyslash pairings and I will attempt to write ficlets, or rec some things, or flail about why they're awesome, or similar. No guarantees I'll get to everything, but have at it!

And ooh, River/Amy, I can work with that. :D
---
Amy's running so fast that it takes her a moment to realise that she's stopped, on account of having collided with something solid. Something solid and River-shaped.
"Amy!" River says, smiling warmly.
"Hi River!"
"Running, are we?"
"Oh yes," Amy says with a grin..

When they finally shake off the Yhalan security detail that's been tailing Amy for the past half an hour (after a little incident with a sonic screwdriver and a nuclear reactor), they're both laughing and a little breathless, and Amy clutches River's arm to keep herself upright.
"So," River asks, "where are we, chronologically speaking?"
"Well, currently we're bringing down the government," Amy tells her. "The Doctor and Rory are off jailbreaking the leader of the resistance."
"Ah, I remember hearing about that. Sounds like fun!"
Amy grins, because she loves her ridiculous life. She considers River, wanting to ask her so many questions.
"Amy, you know I can't tell you anything," River says with a sly smile. "I will, however, give you a very small sneak preview. You ready?"
Amy nods, intrigued. Then River pulls her in and plants a kiss on her, all sticky red lips and warm mouth. Amy's eyes go wide and she bites her lip as River draws away.
"Um," she starts, just as River spots something over her shoulder.
"Hold that thought, we've got company!" she announces.
As they start to run, she grabs Amy's hand.

But back to the eee, because River totally read Amy's mind which omg suggests a lot about their future potential relations and makes me go weak in my femslash loving knees! And Amy all shocked with River's lipstick probably smeared around her lips! Smoking and cute and very, very memorable, and delightfully vivid! Man, that made me wish I was any good at drawing, I desperately want to see that in art. Butyes, pretty ficlet, yay! *clutches Amy and River gleefully*
