Merlin 1x13

HOLY SHIT MERLIN IS BADASS AND SOMEWHAT TERRIFYING.

... I APPROVE. :D

Although, I will be very very upset if that really is the last we see of Nimueh - surely she's in the too pretty to die category? Too awesome and interesting to die, certainly.

Okay, Merlin's goodbye scenes with Arthur and his mum nearly made me cry, wtf. Well played, Colin Morgan, well played. And oh god, that scene with Arthur. I mean, every single one of Merlin's lines was pretty much "I love you to a ridiculous extent", wasn't it? Gah. *heartclutch* Written IN THE STARS. I don't even feel like I'm actively shipping them at this point, just enjoying the canon and whatnot. :D

Having said that... I got such a kick out of the Arthur and Gwen scenes, especially him calling her Guinevere. My screw it I'll just ship everyone philosophy kicks in once again! (OT4, y/y?)

One final and terribly important shipping note: Gwen and Morgana are girlfriends FOREVER AND EVER THE END. ♥ ♥ ♥

Morgana. Right. I am a big fan of prophetic Morgana, but um, not so much with the histrionic dragged away by guards shtick? What was that? Especially straight after last week. o.O I am confused as to why she didn't actually get anything to do, just appear randomly and pronounce doom.

I really, really want to write an episode coda -- you know how I love those -- but won't have time for a while, so you should all get on that for me.

And once more for good measure: HOLY SHIT MERLIN. He killed Nimueh with a bolt of lightning and blasted back dragon fire and skewered that awful CGI'd monster and omfg.

I am going to endeavour to actually reply properly - in the proper place and everything. :D

I think one of my favourite things about the shows is not just that I love all the characters - but that they all clearly love each other so ridiculously much. I think they'd all pretty much lay down their lives for each other, particularly the main four - so when the show goes all teaminess ahoy I am a happy, happy little thing.

Actually the lack of teaminess was one of my big issues with the finale - they all seemed so powerless and ineffective (except Merlin of course - and dude, I rewatched the episode yesterday and Colin Morgan's acting completely blew me away and, you know, may have led to crying again - especially when he's telling Gaius all the things he's taught him).

Anyway back to the point - the lack of teamy good action may be why I have ended up embroiled in mini-epic re-write fic (4000 words so far). Oh dear. That and that I missed active, manipulative Morgana particularly.

Speaking of manipulative Morgana - I was watching the extras on the Merlin DVD (yes I caved and bought it) and there's a section where Katie McGrath is talking about Morgana (I think they showed it on TV ages ago) and she is saying how Morgana is the first lady of Camelot and feels absolutely secure in that position so is willing to use it and manipulate people to acheive what she wants - except Gwen, because she would never do that to her. EVER. (paraphrased)

I love them so much.

Also while I've been home and enjoying my much fastier internet connection I finally managed to watch The Book of Love and it is beautiful and gorgeous - you are a star.

Now I just have to decide what one episode of Merlin to download before I go back to Stratford and slow internet-ness. I've got 1-6 and I've already downloaded The Moment of Truth. I'm thinking maybe The Beginning of the End would be good - it's long enough ago that I don't remember it exactly but I do remember it being good and somewhat teamy. And it contains slash-dragon and fair oodles of Merlin/Morgana (one of my not-so-secret favourite ships).

Hmmm...
