Doctor Who 5x02
Oh my goodness, my show. Truly, it is back. That was actually rather beautiful, in the end. I'm still mulling over the different sides of Eleven that we've seen here, but I continue to be impressed by how very much he just is the Doctor, in a very timeless way.
Eeeee, Amy! She was brave and curious and impulsive and she saved the day, in the end, even after the Doctor shut her out. I love her so much already I can't even deal. Also, SHE CAN PICK LOCKS. (Which, I'm not gonna lie, is totally hot. :D)
Sophie Okonedo as Queen Elizabeth X, hell to the yes! That was fantastic casting, and she was great - although, my one criticism would be that I think she was written as overly slow on the uptake for the sake of the plot. Which is a pretty typical Doctor Who trope, but still.
The emotion of the last scene, and the moments throughout the episode of the Doctor letting truth slip through the cracks, was really gorgeous and heartbreaking. Matt Smith is REALLY GOOD, it's so exciting. And I suppose that knowing he's the last Time Lord is the essential baggage Amy needs to know about, and I'll be curious to see how much of the rest of his history gets brought up this series.
Finally. Guys. Moffat STILL didn't kill anyone! I laugh, and I laugh, and I love. <3

There was a Lancashire joke! I am totes easy for Lancashire jokes, it's not even funny.
I choose to believe that LizTen was slow on the uptake because a lot of reading fantasy/sci-fi leads me to believe that repeated removal of memories has a *bad* effect upon the neural pathways. I can so cod-science Doctor Who if I want!
*carries on flailing a bit over THE SHEER LEVELS OF AWESOME*

Also, yes, I like your theory! *adopts as personal canon*

I love Moffat's imagination so much. We seem to be operating on a very similar wavelength -- just, the aesthetics and the ideas that he plays with on purely a physical level get me so excited and -- eventually I am going to think of a word for that feeling I get when I'm experiencing really good, imaginatively vast speculative fiction, and it makes something in me go wide and starry and wondering. Mostly I can just say, it makes me feel like I did when I read this, and this, and watched that.
LIZ X IS MY NEW FAVOURITE THING IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD ALSO. I want so much fic about her and about Starship UK cos of the PRETTY.
During the Eleven/Amy hug at the end I nearly fell off my chair from the squee. (I HAVE BEEN INFLICTED WITH THE SQUEE. QUARANTINE! QUARANTINE!) "Gotcha." ♥ ♥ ♥ (I totally just had another squee party in my chair typing that just now.)
HOW MUCH do I love the dialogue and the way Matt and Karen play off each other?! OH SHOW. I LOVE YOU. MORE THAN I THOUGHT POSSIBLE.

Haha, yes. I doubt it'd take a woman as smart as she is ten lifetimes to figure it out. I absolutely LOVED her, though!
Eleven is definitely becoming Eleven, in this episode. I'm excited to re-watch it and figure out how. :)

I agree with basically everything you wrote. But I'd say that one could excuse her being a little slow on the uptake because she's based her whole reign on being the head of the rebellion. The smilers etc. were all The Enemy. People and creatures who were okay with sacrificing her subjects. It was probably a self-defence mechanism not to jump to the conclusion that she herself was not only fine with it, too, but had ordered all this. That she was The Enemy.
