ladiesbigbang is a really, really cool thing. You can Big Bang via a number of formats including fic, art, podfic, recs, picspam and vids, and you can also contribute a combination of different media to count towards your overall total. Which is awesome. Lots of info over at the comm about how it all works, but signups run through April and the final draft deadline is September 1st. Also, you can participate even if you don't sign up, just as long as you hit that final deadline. I am spectacularly rubbish with deadlines on big projects, as any number of people can attest to, but I may attempt this one anyway because it is just that cool.

Hey, thanks for the HP rec--I almost never read HP fic, because, whoa, the fandom intimidates me, but that was clever and very real.

You're welcome - you know, I can never really imagine what HP must look like from the outside, it was my first and only fandom for such a long time.

Even if doing the bang requirements isn't in your reach though, with all the multimedia options and potential combinations, I suspect that creating complementary fanworks is going to be a fascinating process for people. Not to mention, for once fic writers who can't fit in the full big bang word count right this second will be able to participate. \o/
