Doctor Who

Well! I think my primary reaction is 'omg can it be next week now???' I don't feel like I can really judge this on its own merits, I need to see how it ends. Some scattered thoughts:

+ WILF. WIIIILF. HE IS AMAZING AND I WANT HIM TO BE MY GRANDDAD. Ahem. Yes. <3

+ Donna! Oh, Donna, I am so worried for you and your nice fiancé. D: THEORY: the everyone turning into the Master thing didn't work on her because she is not, in fact, fully human. See, if I were writing the show that would mean that she must help the Doctor save the world by embracing her Time Lady-ness, and then going on her merry, superpowered way. However, I know this will not happen. *clings to Donna*

+ In general, I fear much fail next week. Yeah, it's a finale, what else is new, I know. :(

+ The Master tied up, the Master gagged, the Master on a lead, the Master in a dress. Thank you, show!

+ I don't know what other people's reactions are going to be, but I personally thought the Obama running thing about a speech that's going to save the world was pretty funny. Also, nice job on the sound-alike voice in particular, that was fun.

+ I think by far the best moment of the episode was the conversation between Wilf and the Doctor in the cafe. It was actually a really nice, understated bit of Ten angst, much better than the usual fare. <3

+ Okay, I loved Wilf and his friends and the Silver Cloak, that was wonderful. Yay for older people getting things to do! And I'm glad to see the older woman in the white suit who's speaking to Wilf, hopefully she won't be power-mad and need to be taken down the way they normally are.

+ GALLIFREY OMGWTFBBQ. Just, what. Okay, THEORY: the Time Lords do not, in fact, want to END TIME (because that doesn't make any sense), rather, they want to end this timeline as a way of correcting the Doctor's mistakes/restoring Gallifrey to its former glory/defeating the Daleks forever/insert option here. This will be a reset that brings back Gallifrey and undoes a reasonable amount of the RTD era, e.g. the amount of common human knowledge about aliens, which will be the set-up for the Moffat era. /theory.

+ My friends, your thoughts? I cannot process this alone!

That explains why Wilf and Donna didn't change. Somewhere there's Martha and Sarah-Jane going h for fuck's sake, what has he done now?

I'm pretty sure Wilf didn't get changed because he was inside that whatsis chamber, actually, and Donna didn't get changed for the same reason the Doctor didn't; she's got a little Gallifreyan inside her and the presto-chango device was programmed for humans only.

So as nice as it might be to think that Martha & Sarah Jane are safe, I don't think they are.

I want to think that's true but am aware I was probably overthinking it.

Bt it would be cool but I'm sure Rusty didn't think about it much! )
