YES YES YES on Gwen. Angel is made of win. I loved that she made Gwen seem fierce and determined and in control even when stuff was about to fall on her head or whatever. Oh my girl, you are so sensible and determined and giving of love! Oh script, give her more awesome to do!
I remain totally bemused by the supposed morality/politics of the show and thus find myself firmly on Team Evil with Morgana, Morgause and Mordred.
I KNOW, RIGHT?! W. T. F.! I'd understand if the writers were trying to present a morally grey arena, but they really aren't, they just seem to have no idea what they're doing. They code certain people and choices as being bad, except they're also the ones talking sense. The way the show's going, it's almost portraying magic as evil and wrong, except when Merlin's doing it for the good of the kingdom. Think about it, when has a magic user besides Merlin been portrayed as anything but problematic and/or evil? It's bizarre, is what it is, and I can't wrap my head around it. I think they realise to some extent that their coding isn't really working, because then they have to make the "bad" people actually go do something bad-ish so we'll stop sympathising with them (like Mordred torturing soldiers with his mind or whatever, which, technically, is kind of out-of-character -- when had he ever done anything harmful or creepy before, besides be called Mordred and all that that implies?). I DON'T KNOW. STOP IT, SHOW.
