I've been rubbish at keeping up this season - I'm always busy on Saturday nights when it's on and have been failing at catching up during the week. But finales are important, even if now I have to wait a torturous week for the confusion.

FINALES WITH THE MASTER IN ARE THE BEST FINALES. YESSSSS. MICHELLE GOMEZ ILU WHAT AMAZING CASTING. A FEMALE MASTER OMGGGG.

And I mean, Clara was wonderful and Jenna is seriously an amazing actor and aw Danny, I like you a lot and hope you don't stay dead, and interesting plot stuff yadda yadda.

BUT MICHELLE GOMEZ IS THE MASTER AND EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL. :D

Oh, a question! I was looking around other people's reaction posts and saw at least one post that referred to her as "The Mistress" -- was wondering if this was an affectation of the poster's or something the show itself does?

She's been going by Missy all season, which she says she picked as it was short for mistress. It remains to be seen whether she's actually changed her moniker or whether she was doing that to mess with the Doctor.

She seems to be calling herself the Mistress, yes. She also insisted on being called a "Time Lady," saying "I'm old-fashioned," when the Doctor identified her as a Time Lord. I'm sure this will lead to all sorts of interesting head-canons about what gender even means to Time Lords, but as far as I'm concerned, the most important point is that Gomez has exactly the right combination of charisma and homicidal batshittery that every Master must bring to the role.
