Matt's leaving Doctor Who at the end of this year.

*sob* Whoever they get next is going to be amazing, of course, but dammit, Eleven's my Doctor really. I wonder if this means the s7 finale was the last time we saw River. All the Ponds really are going, and I'm very sad about it.

If anyone else wants to come over here and cry about it with me, I have internet hugs for all.

I remember Matt was hinting he'd be leaving at the end of S7, but since they never brought it up again I was hoping he was kidding/changed his mind/forgot. ...dammit. /o\

I was totally doing okay, being all "It's the way Doctor Who works, it just has to be" philosophical and stuff, and then I logged into Tumblr and LOST IT. =((( Matt, precious, you're the reason I got into Who, the first one I watched and wanted to watch more. My Doctor. <3

I cling to the hope that we haven't seen the last of River. Because losing all of Team TARDIS within a year(ish) of each other...I don't think I can handle that.

I'm sad, but mostly philosophical about it at the moment, I think because I expected it. (Give it a little while to sink in, and I'll be more upset.)

But… he's my Doctor, just like Amy was my companion. I don't know what to do now. (I really do think, and have since I saw NotD, that it was River's final appearance.) Because they mean so much to me, more than words can tell, or that I'm comfortable saying.

I don't want to say goodbye.
