Doctor Who 7x13

Oh man I loved that.

I loved the aesthetic, the guest characters, the updates to the Cyberman, everything was delightful.

Eleventy playing chess with himself was the bessssst. God, Matt Smith is so good, and the nuances of his performance, the echoes of previous regenerations, the imagery inside his head, oh I loved it all.

CLARA. Excellent military leader and all round delight, as ever. Her face is amazing.

I LOVED Porridge omg. And Warwick Davies as emperor of the universe is fine by me.

So, um. Is it finale time yet?!

IKR? Matt would do really good acting as a villain. And be effectively creepy too.

Next week needs to get here now. Especially after that prequel.

Impish Girl (my 11 y.o.) was very impressed with the Cybermen. "Usually they're just stupid. But these are really good!"

:)

And mostly I just need to watch it again.

ALL THE CHESS!

The guest characters were really great. I thought the casting/writing was really imaginative in a way that TV often isn't, with Alice Ferry and her platoon and Porridge the unexpected but heroic emperor.

Loved the chess, really enjoyable.

Also, big fan of Clara the military leader. I still don't know how I feel about Clara in general but I loved her in this episode.

Porridge was amazing. Simple as.

I loved it. Especially the mindscape visuals, but then, Matt's whole performance was astounding. That was just the best part of it. And Clara!

I genuinely really liked it. Same as last week. There was one wince-inducing Moffatt Moment in this one (and last week too) but for the most part, wow, I am enjoying the newest series.
