Children in Need tonight brought us a prequel clip and a trailer from the Christmas special.

- Vastra and Jenny are Holmes and Watson LET ME DIE. Also lololol Strax, what. But omg Vastra/Jenny omg I'M SO EXCITED THAT THEY'RE BACK.

- CLARA! Her little face! And omg, Jenna and Matt introducing it, what is going onnnn I can't wait to find out. :D And she reminds me of Susan Sto Helit kind of intensely with the being a Victorian governess thing.

YAY. Well if I can't have Ponds, this will do very nicely indeed.

Besides being mentally all 'YAY MY SHOW IS BACK & JENNAAAA AND ELEVEN' - I'm still wondering how many phonebooks, or whatever, she's having to stand on- since she's right about at my height (either 5'1" or 5'2") and Matt is a tall tree (he's like 6'2" or somethin').

And I love Jenna's "Hi. :)" towards the beginning.

Also- as much as I love snow (we don't get much down southeast Texas)- I'm loving the creep factor that Moffat's applying to it.

What would also get me to give it a shot: it turns out that they're on a holodeck in the future, and not Victorian England.

omgggggggggggg :D :D :D :D :D okay so everything about that minisode is perfect, and Jenna is perfect, and OH MY GOSH does this mean the next companion is from the past? COULD IT BE? At long last? :D? I mean the future would be just as good (and what was all that hinting about "you couldn't be playing the same character, no, definitely not, that would be weird...", I REALLY hope that was significant somehow), but the main thing is: she's not from now? THAT WOULD BE SO GOOD.

Right?! It really really looks that way! I mean, I suppose at the very least, and I doubt this, she might have an Ace-type backstory of someone from the present day who's already been swept up by time. WHATEVER IT IS I'M EXCITED. (I need a new companion icon! Squee!)

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited. She's Victorian! "Not from our time" is almost as big on my wishlist for companions as another woman of color or from outer space (not mutually exclusive desires). And I completely agree that she has a Susan Sto Helit kind of vibe going on. I could totally get behind a Susan-esque companion.

Vastra and Jenny as Holmes and Watson also makes me giggle in delight. But really, they make me giggle in delight.

Indeed - I really want more companions who aren't straight and white and from the 21st century. One out of three is a good start! (Maaaaybe she'll be queer as well? I can dream.)
