Doctor Who 7x03
I enjoyed that very much! I thought it was a story that avoided several obvious routes to tell a more interesting story, and the atmosphere and cinematography was stunning.
+ Amy, my girl, you are so spectacular. She is becoming the Doctor in so many ways, and growing up and being fabulous. I love the story of Amy's growing up and how it's not tied into the obvious markers of marriage and children but something that's coming along on its own pace. Hr story is still, ultimately, her own. And ack, Jax description of her as a mother - kind and sad and that ferocious. That's my Pond. <33333
+ there wasn't a huge amount of Ponds time in this episode, but I continue to like the fact that they are committed to living their lives without the Doctor as well as with. And I like that it's Amy who says they want to go home for a bit again - she's becoming the woman who's ready to stop waiting, and maybe she doesn't need her imaginary friend any more. (*SOBS FOREVER*) Though it breaks my heart I do hope that is part of what informs their departure, that everything has its time and it's time to move on.
+ oh, Doctor. Given that it's Eleven and we haven't seen as much of it lately, I had more patience for the grappling with the angst here. And it wasn't easy and not everyone lived but he did the right thing, and more or less everyone got to find some kind of peace, and some kind of mercy.
+ I really am enjoying these very defined set piece standalones a lot, I think it's a great choice to make the show feel fresh again after last season's one big arc.
+ HOW EXCITED AM I FOR NEXT WEEK, THOUGH? Very, let me tell you! Domestic Ponds! The Doctor coming to stay! I'm assuming they've basically filmed some fic and I cannot WAIT. And then, um, I'm pretty sure I don't want the week after to ever, ever happen. It's a problem. It's just been so long since we've had a proper companion departure and I've forgotten how to deal with it. DDD:

This week was fun, but SORELY underused Ben Browder, so I am a little huffy with it.

And yes, that was such a shame he got bumped off so soon! Though I'm still not over that facial hair, good god.

Wait, is this something she actually says in as many words in the episode? Did I miss something?
Next week looks to be amazing. And I'm afraid it's going to make the week after that much worse. :(

And no no, I just missed off half the sentence there - I meant that she's the one who says they want to go back home for a bit.

Yeah. Woe. But I think it'll be a lovely, sentimental send off for them, which is great.
