Avengers kissing fest!

(Me? Procrastinating on my own fannish projects? Never!)

I declare a festival of kissing for my pretty summer fling fandom. Avengers movieverse, all characters, all ships and no ships, all fanworks.

THE RULES:

01. Leave a comment with two or more characters from the Avengers movieverse who you'd like to see kiss. You can include a prompt if you like as an optional extra for the prompt-filler.
02. Reply to a comment with a fanwork in which those characters kiss. The kissing can be platonic or romantic, on the mouth or the cheek or the forehead or the shoulder or anywhere else that you like.
03. All fanworks welcome, including art/podfic/vids/icons/recs/meta/fic etc. Multiple fills for the same prompt are encouraged. Replying to your own prompt is fine. Anon commenting is fine. Coming back and posting a fill two months later is fine.

Steve sits outside the archery range, watching the perfect rhythm of Clint's arms. Up; nock; back; loose. Up; nock; back; loose. At the other end of the range, a vertical line of arrows pierces the dummy like a second spine.

"Cap," Clint says, finally, vacantly, as if he doesn't care at all: "Come on in."

He does, slowly. Clint doesn't look at him. In profile, Steve can see how loose his jaw is, how his triceps grow and his corded wrists grow hard when he pulls the arrow. Every part of his body is perfect, except for the skin around his eyes. He looks like he's aged sixty years. An observation which is a little ironic, Steve reflects, coming from him.

"What do you want?" Clint says. There's a soft puff of fabric smut when the arrow hits, a little ghost of force.

Steve turns to face the shooting range. He folds his arms. "Did they brief you about my-- my friend Bucky?"

Clint pauses to swing over another quiver. His fingers run over the fletching, testing, maybe not even consciously. A lifetime's habit. "Yeah. Kind of."

"When I lost him," Steve says, and he hates that his voice goes all high and broken when he talks about this, but it's important, right?-- "When I lost him--it was like the whole world got the sound turned off. Like I was walking through a movie back before the talkies came, and everyone was just moving their mouths, and I..." He runs his hand through his hair. Darn it. How was he supposed to do this?

"You were waiting for the sound to come on," Clint says. Thwack.

Steve's head jerks up. He risks a glance over at Clint. He's not looking at Steve, but something in his face has changed. "Yeah," Steve says. "And after a while I just couldn't wait anymore, so I forgot about it. But then, you know, sometimes things would get through. A good deed, or, I don't know, I guess it sounds kinda corny nowadays, but, a nice smile. A moment of, of..."

"Contact," Clint says, and the arrow hits home.

"Yeah," Steve says.

Clint turns his head. Steve can see how gaunt his face is, from this angle, like something's been eating him from the inside and is maybe still chewing. It feels like a challenge. Steve puts his hand up, backs away.

"Wait," Clint says, grabbing one of Steve's hands. There's a pause; they stare at one another for a minute, Steve unsure whether he should be afraid for his life, or, heck, for Clint's. Then Clint wraps two fingers around Steve's wrist, precise and sure.

"It isn't the same," he says, and he leans forward, "But." And then, softly, with almost avuncular kindness, Clint stands on his tiptoes and kisses Steve on the forehead. Then he lowers himself down, and when he looks up, both of them smile.

"Thanks," says Steve, and grips Clint's hand, and as he's about to let go, Clint says:

"I needed that."

Steve just nods, and nods again, and then there's nothing else to say, so he uncurls his hand from Clint's and turns to go.

He hears Clint back at his practice, the thump of him swinging another quiver out of the supply, the rubbery twinge of the string pulling back, the heartskip of the arrow striking true. He walks away down the hall. Steve whistles "Autumn in New York" as he goes, and for the moment, he's pretty sure that Clint hears it just fine.
