EEEEE I LOVED IT SO MUCH. KORRAAAAA MY DARLING GIRL YOU ARE THE BEST. a;lsdjka;sa all the sparkly hearts!!!

Some bullet points:

+ I mean, yes, like lots of people it would have been awesome if the resolution had been less rushed but I appreciate that they didn't know they had a s2 when making it and so that is okay! I'm hoping they'll pick up some of the more interesting threads next series and expand on them more, like Korra's development of her spiritual self and airbending etc etc.

+ I LOVE KORRA. I LOVE HER SO MUCH. HER LITTLE FACE. HER HOPE AND BRAVERY AND IMPATIENCE AND LOVE FOR HER FRIENDS AND TENZIN AND PEMA AND THE AIRBABIES AND I CAN'T EVEN WITH HER. Oh, Avatar, you're such a darling in every incarnation. The whole last section made me cry, when Aang appeared and then she re-bendified Lin and omggggg LOVE.

+ LIN. WHAT A BADASS. I LOVE EVERYTHING SHE CHOOSES TO BE. *_____* Somewhere, Toph is so fucking proud, ahhhh.

+ Tenzin and Pema and the airbabies! hearts hearts hearts! I really adore Tenzin, and I love what little we've had of Pema and the kids are all super cute.

+ ASAMI. Ugh she had such a rough ride and I would like for Korra and Bolin to give her all the hugs and for Mako to apologise to her for being a dick, because he kind of was. Boo, love triangles, boo, they never end well. I hope she gets to be astoundingly happy next series and I love her and her technological wizardy and getaway driver skills and EVERYTHING. EEEE.

+ General Iroh! Ridiculous fanservice of joy! :D :D :D I desperately want more stuff about the Fire Nation next series omg. According to the Nick website Zuko's off wandering around while his daughter runs the Fire Nation? TELL ME MORE. *chinhands*

+ Bolin is the most adorable of all boys and I love him entirely. I am glad he and Naga are bffs now.

+ eeeee I don't even know what my feelings are doing I just love everyone and want to watch the whole season again and consume all the fanworks and flail with glee. <33333

I know they're taking it out of Republic City, but we never even got to see the friendship develop between her and Korra. It's bleck.

This season should have been 22 episodes. I'm so bummed they didn't get greenlit for it.

I can't tell you how relieved I am to read your entry. Just about everyone around me hated the finale, and I was sitting there wondering if there was something legit wrong with me because I was pretty damn happy after finishing the ep. I know that it was far from perfect, but ... idk, I was just really content all around, especially given the obstacles that you listed (and I also recognized that this was their first time attempting a story in this universe in only 12 episodes, do the stumbling/lack of balance didn't surprise me).

KORRA. DARLING GIRL. She seems to be getting a fair bit of "meh" feelings from people, BUT I JUST WANT TO HUG HER EVERY EPISODE AND TELL HER HOW WONDERFUL SHE IS. I'm pretty sure I have hearts in my eyes for all of the female characters (and if Asami ISN'T back next season I will raaaage).

When Aang appeared I think I let out a scream (I DEFINITELY let out a scream when Iroh appeared last week XD). Yeah, it was a bit rushed, but it was still delightful, imo (not that I don't get why others wouldn't be pleased, because I do -- I just enjoyed it despite all of that).

I honestly don't understand how you could not love Korra, she's just GREAT and such a watchable character.

Grown-up Aang brought tears to my eyes just like every time we see any of that generation grown up. AANG. KATARA. MY HEEEEAAAAAAAAARRRRRRTTTT.

I do wish it hadn't been so rushed. It needed an equivalent of the lion-turtle episode. But I totally yelled "FUCK YEAH AVATAR STATE" when it finally happened.

And honestly, I can see why people who watch with a primarily Watsonian perspective might not like it. Everything IS really rushed, and Asami deserves better. I was looking at it from a Doylist POV the whole time, though, and from where I was sitting, it all made sense. Korra's hurdle is that she can't get in touch with her spiritual side. This is a girl who has grown up loved and successful without any need for the spiritual -- as opposed to Aang, who grew up in a monastery (not that he wasnt loved there, but he was being prepared for the whole spirit thing in a way that it seems Korra wasn't) and went through significant trauma at 12. Korra had to go through something major to (a) unblock her airbending, and (b) get her to communicate with past Avatars. Having that "something" be hitting rock bottom and having her powers taken away makes total sense.

And it absolutely makes sense that she can restore bending. I mean, hello, the whole point of the Avatar is that she restores BALANCE. If some dude can take away bending (whether that dude is Amon or Aang), then naturally the Avatar should be able to restore it to maintain balance.

So rushed, yes, but I thought it was fairly elegantly handled nonetheless.

I saw lots of haters, but I didn't care! Because I loved it! Of course I would have loved it to be a longer season, but whatever! Look at all the good things we got! Korra quickly jumped onto my favourite characters OF ALL TIME list (then joined by Tenzin and Lin Bei Fong, with possible visits from Asami when they're giving her something to do like FIGHT HER DAD IN A GIANT MECH!!!)

I really, really need the Asami-Bolin-Pabu-Naga buddy cop show. I need it. Because of stuff. Asami can be the tech wizard/designated driver! Pabu and Naga can save the day! Bolin can make cupcakes and arrange flowers!

And yes, this was rushed and all, but it was fun! It was maybe not an UNPARALLELED WORK OF ART but it was endearing. And I do not understand how people do not like Korra and/or Tenzin. THEY ARE LOVELY PEOPLE AND MAKE FUNNY FACES.
