Avengers stories I want to read, in no particular order:

+ Ones that have Darcy in them! Darcy should obviously join SHIELD in some capacity and be awesome. I also assume that Coulson's around for all of this, please insert fix-it method of your choice.

+ ALL THE WACKY TEAM SHENANIGANS. *ALL* OF THEM. The one where they all end up going to Stark Tower for the end and it's basically a disaster, the one where they take it in turns to teach Steve about the 21st century, the time they go out to a bar and aliens attack, etc.

+ All the wacky trope shenanigans! I am basically sitting here waiting for amazing bodyswap fic to fall into my lap. How fantastic would a Tony-Bruce bodyswap be? Assuming the Hulking out remains with the body, you've got Bruce being all 'right! now I can get mad without everyone pointing guns at me, fucking finally! So here's what I think of you, and you, and especially you, Fury!' Meanwhile: 'TONY, TONY, DAMMIT YOU HAVE TO CALM DOWN OR YOU'RE GOING TO HULK OUT ON US OH MY GOD WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE.' 'I CAN'T CALM DOWN WHEN YOU'RE YELLING AT ME JESUS PEPPER WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON.'

+ Also for your consideration - a Darcy-Natasha bodyswap in which Natasha was mid-mission with Clint and so Darcy has to somehow keep up the pretence while being very unable to do the things Natasha can and Clint's torn between being amused and somewhat terrified for both their lives, meanwhile Natasha is trying to get some of Darcy's backlog of work done and nearly sets her computer on fire in frustration and is very rude to people on the phone.

+ Thanks to one of thingswithwings' responses to fifteen characters meme I now desperately want comedy fic about the ridiculous situations Natasha gets herself into because she OWES PEOPLE A DEBT and is really, really diligent about repaying people what she owes them and not owing anyone any favours and maintaining her integrity etc. SHE'S GOT RED IN HER LEDGER OKAY.

+ All the Tony & Bruce and Tony/Bruce science buddy adventures and moments of earnest ~feelings~ omg.

+ All the group hugs. All the big zigzag shaped team poly setups where it's complicated and a bit messy in places but it works, and everyone's got someone to go to for whatever it is that they need.

+ All the ladies. I want stories about Pepper and Natasha and Maria and also let's bring in Darcy and Jane and Sif, and Peggy could totally show up, etc.

Clint scrubs his face. He used to have arguments with Coulson about how he should get paid more for 'tasha-translating-duties (and no he didn't mean when she swore in Russian), but now Coulson isn't around to argue with about it, and the Boss doesn't think it's funny. As if Clint is joking.

"Look," he says, and stares into the bewildered face of Captain America aka Steve Rogers aka the guy so obnoxiously decent he's like something out of a Discworld novel. "Sometime when we're getting drunk," he tries, "I will do my best at explaining the exciting and interesting world that is Agent Romanoff's brain. For now, could you just do me a favour?"

Rogers looks at him like he's crazy. "Probably?" he says, showing that he's been around this place long enough to stop committing himself to unheard favours, which is a good thing.

"Just don't ever do Nat favours she can't easily repay, okay? It makes her . . . " Clint gropes for a word and settles on, "squirrelly."

If I was a bit more au fait with the fandom (as opposed to having seen the film twice and, er, that's it), I'd write this. As it is, I will hunt it down. And apparently having accidentally fed m'wife a Tony/Bruce plotbunny (well, more of a shipbunny in general, but AFAIC they drove off into the sunset together so it's canon anyway) yesterday, she says they're still snarking at each other in her head and yanking everybody's chain. And JARVIS is aiding and abetting. She can't guarantee earnest feelings, though...

And then I begged my flist on LJ for lots of Bruce-and-Tony-are-BFFS fic, and I got left two drabbles in comments. I've been immersed in Marvel universe fic for like a month.

Yes, fuck yes and also hell fucking yes. I would read that in a heartbeat. (I am sort of flailing around looking mournfully for Avengers film-canon Natasha fic, and I know it must exist and it's probably awesome, but those are really hard search parameters if you're not in the middle of the fandom.)

I want to read that very badly. Especially if they initially try to pretend to *be* the person whose body they are in, because Reasons. Like, Natasha wants to see if she can pass as a specific person to people who really know that person, which you usually can't do because disguises let you down, while Darcy figures this is her chance to really get the scoop on whatever Clint's relationship with Natasha is, because she's convinced there has to be more to it than she can see. (Of course, that's what tips Clint off.)
