Doctor Who 7x00
OMG INSTANT FAVOURITE SQUEE SQUEE SQUEE!!!
oh my goodness I loved that sooooo much ahhhh.
+ oh my god Eleven just let me love you. He's so old and so kind and so broken after everything that's happened and FEELINGS. His persona of the Caretaker was absolutely perfect, I can't even. He had lots of great moments - references all the way back to Jabe, running jokes about the sonic not doing wood, and generally everything was lovely.
+ Clive and Lily were adorbs omg. <3
+ Bill Bailey! I loved the three foresters, they were great, and their scenes were short but lots of fun. In general I thought the worldbuilding was great - no cackling bad guy, just a strange and dangerous situation that's a puzzle to work out more than anything.
+ MADGE ARWELL. CAN WE JUST TALK FOR A MINUTE ABOUT HOW COMPLETELY AMAZING SHE IS. STRONG AND AN AMAZING MOTHER BUT HUMAN AND INTERESTED IN THE WORLD AND SAVES THE DAY IN COMPLETELY HER OWN WAY AND OMG OMG BESSSSSST. She saves her family with her magical brain!
+ ... which, speaking of people who save their families with their magical brains, OH MY GOD AMELIA POND. YOUR FACE. Because I knew they were going to be in it, as soon as Madge told the Doctor to go find his friends I knew what was coming and just cried and cried with happiness. I can't even, guys, I don't have the words. Just immense, immense squee. The final scene had everything I could possibly have wanted and ahhhhhhh.

I'm not crying; there's just something in my eye. Honest.

I have ALL THE FEELINGS!!!!
(I must say, slippers in the snow are a bad plan, this is why wee!Amelia got to be a companion, she went back for her wellies. I'm aware that my reasoning makes no sense.)

And Ponds! Ponds! That part went exactly how I knew it would go. (Except, in my secret heart of hearts, when they were both like 'I'm not hugging first!' I wanted Rory to run in and leap on the Doctor. LOLLLLLLL.)

And I enjoyed the special altogether. And Madge. MADGE! ASDJKALSJD.
Ugh, eyes are stinging now from all of my crying. BUT BASICALLY THIS WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED IN MY LIFE.

MADGE ARWELL. CAN WE JUST TALK FOR A MINUTE ABOUT HOW COMPLETELY AMAZING SHE IS
OMG, she is SO my favourite. I was enjoying the ep an awful lot already, but when she pulled a gun on the foresters and said "I'm looking for my children" it was just. Whoa. My love went up a whole other level, and it was all Madge Arwell and Why She is the Bestest from there on in.
I did not know there would be any Ponds, so the end was like finding and extra-lovely present in the bottom of your stocking when you think you've opened the lot and are about to put it away. Ahem. Amy and her face are so beautiful and I did love her Christmas jumper, and Rory's cardigan was hilariously sweet, and, yes, River as in the kitchen setting fire to things. SO MUCH FESTIVE LOVE.

I love Eleven so ridiculously much. He's so...sad. Nine was mad, Ten was angry, Eleven's just...sad. It breaks my heart. And Matt Smith is so brilliant.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you.
Also, hello Moffat's thing about mothers. And the introduction, in which I was vaguely nostalgic for RTD's worst excesses. ;)
But yeah. The keyword on this episode is crying. I swear, I got misty-eyed for about a full third of this thing. Also, PONDS.

(Um. It is possible I am writing self-indulgent post-ep fic. *facepalm*)
