additional notes:

[personal profile] purplefringe: So, this vid kind of came into existence as a result of [personal profile] such_heights' Feelings about the Ponds and how awesome they are, and my Thoughts, which mostly went along the lines of "omg so much meta!!" Inspired by some particularly beautiful and insightful essays by [livejournal.com profile] elisi and [livejournal.com profile] goldenmoonrose, we decided to join forces to make a vid about the fairytale adventure that is Doctor Who, a journey of self-discovery down the rabbit hole, through the looking glass, into the wardrobe - a quest for identity throughout all of time and space. We also wanted to incorporate some of the most interesting symbolism from the show. And their faces. All their faces.

I love everything about this vid (and the lyrics! as if they were written for this fandom, for this vid), but most of all, i love the intercut between the Tardis/Idris and her energy, and Mels/River's regeneration energy, as if to say, "The Tardis gifted you with this energy."

Enchanting.

I only missed one image (though I understand one must make choices): the image of Idris gazing at herself in the mirror. She, too, is part of the matrix of the Ponds, one more mother and wife, and one more person who exists in multiple forms, and who desires to know herself in her reflection.

Perhaps that's another vid? *grin*
