Okay, let's liveblog the heck out of this. :D
+ HI MERLIN HI.
+ I am so excited just to have new vid footage, I've got to tell you. Ooh, sweeping Camelot shots. NICE.
+ So, we're still with the big gay sparkly nonsense, it would seem. :D (Man, I can feel the fics writing themselves as Arthur wanders around half-clothed shouting for Merlin. I look forward to reading one or two!)
+ HI GAIUS'S EYEBROW OF PUZZLEMENT.
+ "It's just one of my many gifts!" Oh, Merlin. *squish*
+ Ooh, magical backstory. Voldemort built Camelot? Okay!
+ HI MORGANA. Except, oh, sweetheart. :(
+ HI GWEN. I am glad you are on call to cuddle your employer at all hours of the night. :D
+ Arthur is ... kind of a jerk in this episode (like, more than usual). Didn't someone say something about the idea the first episode would regress everyone's characterisation to draw in new people or something?
+ OH, MORGANA, BABY. :(((( Ilu!

+ (So, this is not the most insightful commentary in the world!)
+ Gargoyles! That's awesome.
+ HOLY CRAP MERLIN JUST BLASTED A DOOR DOWN. <3333
+ Okay, I found the Arthur/Gwen section more than a little heavy-handed, BUT Gwen is awesome and sort of sceptical of Arthur still, so that's great. (Gwen is going to get plots that don't involve UST with Arthur, though, right?)
+ Nice play to get the Dragon back involved. Also, jeez, way to blackmail there, Dragon!
+ This episode is genuinely tense - I'm impressed, show!
+ You guys, Merlin loves Arthur so much. It's breaking my heart just a little here.
And end, complete with trailer of shiny goodness. So, that needed WAY more Gwen & Morgana (though I have already promised an episode coda in the Free-For-All, so I'll be getting on that now - it may be snuggle-based), but I did enjoy it very much. Mostly because Merlin is MADE OF CUTE (and wasn't even a little bit murderous in this, yay!) and I wish to hug him.
