So sometimes on Valentine's Day I have a gen story ready to post, but sadly I do not this year. However, I would be up for writing some commentfic this evening!

Leave a comment with a fandom, two or more characters, and a prompt of some kind, and I'll see what I can do! Friendships, rivalries, coworkers, families, all non-romantic kinds of relationships are a go.

Fandoms: New Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Torchwood (pre-CoE), Merlin, SGA, A:TLA, Firefly, Legend of the Seeker, Star Trek Reboot, Fringe (note: am an episode behind), White Collar. Crossovers allowed!

Something about Amanda and small Spock, maybe visiting Earth? *puppy eyes*

Amanda's heart breaks a little when she finally hears the whole story about Spock and the bullies at his school, not least of which because of the reason why. She cancels her next conference and has a long conversation with Sarek, and five days later she and Spock are on a transport to Earth.

Spock doesn't say much during the trip, contenting himself instead with flipping rapidly through files and photos that Sarek uploaded for him before they left. When the captain announces that they'll be in orbit shortly, she kneels down in front of him, gently taking his PADD away and putting it on the side.

"Spock," she says. "I want you to feel that Earth is a part of your heritage too. Vulcan may be your home, but this is part of who you are too, just like I am. Humans live quite differently from Vulcans, and neither way is wrong, or inferior. Do you understand?"

Spock nods. "Yes, mother."

"Good." She sits up, and kisses his forehead. "Now come on, we want to get in line for the transporter in good time to see the Ashmolean, one of Earth's finest and oldest museums."

"Oxford," Spock supplies. "Part of the former United Kingdom. It sounds quite fascinating."

Amanda laughs, and hugs her son tight.
