Oh, CJ. CJ was another one of my very early role models. She taught me that you could be somewhat socially inept, and have a sense of humour, and feeling incredibly passionate about world issues, and that not only would those things not impede you doing your job, they actually made you better at it.

Also her code name is Flamingo and she does a killer Jackal impression and when the series ends she's probably going to go and save the whole goddamn world. Yeah, she's pretty awesome.

She's written Fashion Week, which is C.J/Tara Maclay.

yay for CJ! I don't read much West Wing fic at ALL, but I do know this amazing story: Election Days, by raven. It's a West Wing/Star Trek fusion (West Wing characters basically running an election in the Federation) and it's beautiful, one of my favourite fusion concepts ever. And CJ (along with Donna) is at the heart of the story.

Aishet Chayel is an awesome novel-length fic all about C.J. and her awesomeness. That said, it is serious hurt/comfort, and caveat lector, the major storyline is cancer-centric. But C.J. is awesome.

I've been loving these awesome women posts -- I've read most of them (all the ones I recognise) but haven't commented -- but, oh, CJ! CJ! Who was smart and funny and utterly fierce, able to control a room of journalists with style and confidence, able to stand surrounded by brilliant men and not only hold her own, but also fearless challenge them when required. CJ who wasn't always suave, who had off days and made social faux pas, who struggled and cared about her job, who didn't always get it right but tried every damn time and did such a fantastic job she could rightfully be proud of her contribution.

Oh, CJ. Not only awesome, but awe-inspiring.
