Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Doctor Who, just in general. Specifically the last ten minutes of the finale. ALL MY DREAMS CAME TRUE it was sort of amazing. <33333

I miss old school Torchwood and Merlin fandom still.
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
I am increasingly tempted by Lost Girl, it sounds like my cup of tea.

Yes, come to the dark side, do. We have pretty girls with swords (well, machettes really, but it's as close as to make no difference) and delicious female agency and other good stuff.

There was an entire episode that nearly turned me off the show entirely. The villain was a man (of color, of course) who had the power to slut-shame to death and had no interest in sex. Bo and another succubus captured him, used their powers making-out style to get him to talk after they very clearly stated that he didn't want sexual contact, then used their powers more to torture him. Finally, the other succubus killed him with her power.
I think my biggest problem with the show is the handwaving and double standards. Torturing with sex is okay, but murdering is wrong. Using sex to get what you want from humans is okay, but killing humans is wrong. If they addressed what Bo was doing, I'd have less of a problem with it. But it's all "these fey are bad, but I'm good", and it squicks me out.

Re Lost Girl, I'd be curious to know what you think if you decide to watch it. I'm about two-thirds of the way through, and on the one hand it has a wonderfully watchable female friendship at its heart and sexy women with swords and a bisexual protagonist and a canon female same-sex pairing to root for. (Also, I think you would love the explicitly sex-positive themes and ethos. And, you know, actual sex scenes between women.)
On the other, some of the class!fail and race!fail really squick me, and some of the attempts at feminism and queer-positivity actually collapse into the opposite in weird ways. Obviously they're building an entire sex-positive semi-feminist show around the succubus legend, which of course was as sex-negative as it gets. (It particularly bothers me that the protagonist's male and female lover interests are not given equal weight within the narrative; I am big Bo/Lauren shipper.) I've heard people compare it to Legend of the Seeker (which I know you enjoyed) for being superficial positive re women and sex but having lots of problematics beneath the skin.
On the whole, I think you'd like it if the consent issues didn't bother you. Aside from the whole Bo-is-a-succubus-and-can-mind-control-people-with-a-touch premise, sexual situations of dubious consent (a kiss, actual sex, unsuccessful attempts at rape, etc.) occur in episodes 1, 7, 8, and 10.
I suspect you would love episode 1, actually, but if you let me know any particular triggers and what level of spoiler you want, I'd be happy to give you a rundown episode-by-episode on consent issues. You could watch the first half of the season and see what you think before you encounter the Great Fandom Consent Controversy that occurs in episode 8.
Let me know! I'd be happy to help, and I know how very very particular triggers can be.

Hee, very like my new fandom discoveries! I am looking forward to more Fringe in January so, so much. Also I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE LEGEND OF KORRA.
*bumps Saving Face to the top of the to-watch list*
