some things I have watched

Merlin 3x03

Huh. That actually wasn't nearly so bad as I was expecting - considering my expectations were rock bottom, that's not actually saying all that much. But Gwen had lines and was involved in the plot! I liked Merlin again! Some of it was actually funny! Morgana's reaction to Merlin's arrest was PRICELESS and AMAZING. So some good moments and not much that made me frustrated. And pretty Gwen was pretty.

In conclusion:

White Collar through 2x09

eeee, this show is totally my happy place. Some points in no particular order:

+ Peter/El/Neal remains the most awesome of ships, even though I am sad that we couldn't have more El in this part of the season.

+ I have the most ridiculous, high school crush on Neal Caffrey, I do not even know, I want to draw little hearts around him in my notebook.

+ DIANA IS THE BEST EVER, OMG. I am still all !!! at the fact we are even allowed to have her, eeee. I hope we get to see her mysterious girlfriend sometime, but until then I'll be busy crossover shipping her with like, everyone ever.

Undercovers 1x01

OMG I ENJOYED THE HECK OUT OF THIS. Gugu Mbatha-Raw is AMAAAZING omg I love her. She can sexpionage me any time. (And hi Tish hi!) Everyone was delightful, really, and I love the slightly tongue in cheek tone and all the international spying shenanigans. I totally, totally recommend giving it a try, and man, it is so so refreshing to watch a show where the white guys are the supporting characters. (And delightful supporting characters they are too!)

More please. :D

Fringe through 1x06

OKAY FINE, EVERYONE IN THE WORLD, I CAVED. Pluses: Olivia Dunham is the BEST EVER OMG I CAN'T EVEN. Anna Torv is just mesmerising, I don't think I've been quite so drawn in by someone's inner emotional landscape since Mary McDonnell in BSG. Her face! So many feelings! I tentatively like Peter, Broyles is awesome, and the show NEEDS MOAR ASTRID ALREADY, she is adorable. Walter is well-drawn but not always easy to watch. And I ADORE Nina, oh wow she is fabulous AND SHE HAS A ROBOT HAND. You guys know my feelings about robot hands. :D

But okay, THIS SHOW IS REALLY GROSS ALSO. D: I was complaining about this to [personal profile] were_duck earlier, and also about the amount of icky, skeevy medical experimentation which wigs me out no end, and she tells me it doesn't get any better. :/ I will struggle onwards, because most of the episodes are great! Just occasionally I start making grossed-out noises and covering the screen with my hands. And sometime I will remember that this is not a show I can watch with my lunch.

Also, 1x02, what even was that with all OH HEY LET'S MUTILATE SOME HOT CHICKS FOR A WHOLE EPISODE. Do Not Want.

Yay Fringe! The first half of season 1 is a bit uneven, but it starts getting steadily more consistent and better as it goes along and stays on an upward curve right to the end of season 2 (and I hear good reports of the season 3 opener). It does stay icky in terms of some of the stuff they show on-screen (I've done a fair bit of covering my eyes while watching), but Olivia remains awesome and eventually they figure out they need more Astrid. I very much like what they do with Walter: the show treats his condition sympathetically while not losing sight of the fact he's responsible for some truly reprehensible things.

Oh, and -- if you're not spoiled for the mytharc, it's really worthwhile trying to stay that way as you watch. There are a couple of absolutely terrific plot twists which are all the better if you don't know about them in advance.

In conclusion: ROBOT ARM.
