Unfortunately touristing in Boston turned into kind of a bust owing to various travel and hostel-related incidents, but thank you everyone for your suggestions! Another time, hopefully, and I will be able to do some of that when I get to DC.
Happily I did get to spend this afternoon wandering about withiambickilometer and contrarywise, so overall I'm calling it a win.
