OH MY GOD MY JOY IS UNCONFINED.

Everybody lives! Amy and Rory get their happily ever after (well, until mortal peril strikes again next series)! My number one happy fantasy ending was them getting married then going off with the Doctor for their honeymoon, so you can't imagine my levels of squee.

Also, omg, RIVER FUCKING SONG. Like, the most badass woman ever to badass. Oh, god, that scene with the Dalek. CHILLS.

And oh, oh, wee Amelia was so wonderful, and the Doctor tucking into bed was the most wonderful thing ever - I continue to adore the emphasis on the Doctor's kindness, here.

I'm pretty sure the plot didn't make logical sense, but oh, it all had so much emotional and thematic resonance that it didn't matter, it was just utterly satisfying and perfect and DID I MENTION THAT WE ACTUALLY GOT A HAPPY ENDING, BECAUSE OMG.

I will have to rewatch and talk more about particular moments that I really loved, but mostly it made me flap my hands in delight, and I couldn't have asked for more.

AMY. RORY. ELEVEN. RIVER. OFF TO HAVE MANY MORE WONDERFUL, SPARKLY ADVENTURES TOGETHER. SO MUCH YAY.

I absolutely LOVED this episode, and I've even started liking River. I disliked being TOLD I had to like her by Show/Writers (and watching Confidential didn't help with that), so it's taken me a long long time. I do like River/Liz X though after you mentioned it. xD

And omg yes I've been hoping for Amy/Rory wedding for the entire season!!!! And woooooo YAH YEA YEAAAAH.

I never watch Confidential, which is a holdover from RTD days because everything I heard that came from the Confidential ruined things for me. I was pretty ambivalent towards her in season four, then the first angel ep I didn't like her and the second angel ep liked her a lot more, and since then I've kept liking her. It was just when she came in knowing everything all smug and better at everything than the Doctor that really bugged me, even if it did bring us Matt Smith making the TARDIS noise.

I have watched Confidential this series, and it hasn't impressed me the most, an it made me wonder about Karen's acting skills, when I hadn't before. And so that annoyed me about it. Plus during the Angels episodes, everyone was all "AND RIVER COMES BACK AND IS THE AWESOMEIST EVER, HAD TO MAKE PEOPLE SEEEEEE SHE'S THE AWESOMEIST" and so blar, yea. But yea smug and knowing more than the Doctor and whatnot bugged me, along with YOU MUST LIKE HER.

I've loved River ever since she first appeared on screen, I think she's fantastic! And I'm very excited to see where things go next series. :D

I've seen several naysayers - particularly at Gallfrey Base - but I couldn't care less that they hated it. Sucks for them. I thought it was glorious, and SO. MUCH. FUN!!!!!!!! I loved the whole series this season, and I have to say it's probably my favorite one so far, though I do love Rose, Martha and Donna as well. (And Mickey, and Jack, and Jackie, and Sarah Jane...)And Chris and David, too, of course. But Matt is just absolutely brilliant, and there's something about the way he plays the Doctor that just sings.

And then I put on Confidential, and see a friend from my flist on it from when they came to New York to promote the series! (She's the one dressed as Captain Jack with the coat and hat.)

Me, too, although I'm doing my best to not actually read those posts or at least back out quickly. I'm enjoying the finale far too much for that.

I have a hard time understanding what it is the naysayers are looking for in the show. I suspect some of them just like to be contrary on purpose, but others complain about the most mind boggling things. OMG! Clever and even amusing use of time travel in a show about...a TIME TRAVELER! *shrug* I just shake my head.

Pfft, I am ignoring everything that could possibly harsh my squee. This much fannish joy doesn't come along all the time!

Yeah, I adore all the old characters, but this series has really gelled for me in a new way.

I will look out for her, that's awesome!

I'm just boggling at the fact that they can even think it's even close to rubbish. I can't understand exactly what they want from the show. I don't know. I mean, sure, since 2005, a few shows have only been "okay", but they were all still really fun to watch. I mean, my least favorite of all the new ones that have aired was "The Idiot's Lantern", and it's the only one I skip when I rewatch. *shrug* Maybe they miss the cardboard and the cheesy paper machier monster costumes.

Fandom is always funny - peculiar funny, not 'haha' funny - when it comes to a lot of things. But I don't care. I loved it like burning, and I'll probably rewatch the whole series again this week just for the sheer joy of it.

Favourite married OT3 ever, clearly. \o/ Not to mention logic, smogic. Someone on my flist meta'd that Amy was going to think the world back into existence, so there was at least some semblance of in-canon logic. Besides which, I love when canon logic almost but doesn't quite marry with real-world logic. Leaps of faith to believe fictional verses are fun! :D

I STILL CAN'T STOP SMILING, AMY, AAAAAH, SO LOVELY. :DD I saw both eps back to back and it was a bit TOO MUCH stuff but at the same time the ending was so happy and amazing and cheerful that I just don't care. YAY. ♥

(Btw, and something I've been curious about for a while: Are you also an Amelia? I had the impression the name is used as it is nowadays and not as an abreviation, but I could be wrong!)

I caught up on nearly the entire series yesterday, watched the last few episodes this morning, and yay, so happy!

Yeah, I started handwaving the plot about halfway through The Pandorica Opens, but hey, imagining real/fictional universes into reality is ♥ ♥ ♥, as far as I am concerned. :)

Absolutely! The little speck of hope left inside Pandora's Box, the half-remembered story, all the lovely shades of metafiction, totally better than a more iron-tight plot.

It was such a great season finale.

weee!!! It was totally adorable. And yay for Mr Pond and for getting married not being the end of going out and having fun and being awesome. And River facing down the Dalek. And the lovely, lying, cheeky, adorable Doctor. And actually using timetravel to solve problems. And, well, the whole thing really.
