(Confession: I have pretty much stolen this wholesale off [personal profile] toft. See above re. non-functioning brain.)

I never know where people come from these days - which is cool! The mystery is exciting! But I am curious, and so offer you some tick-boxes.

I feel embarrassed and sad to admit that I have all three of the most recent DWs on my computer and haven't watched them yet. In fact, the last DW thing I saw was Planet of the dead, despite having ALL OF IT on my hard drive.

Halp mah brain.

I don't remember how I found you! Maybe Harry Potter? I selected "through some other thing", since I'm not sure.

This describes me as well. Hang in there!

I don't agree with this statement, but after being sad about people calling him ugly for months, this makes me inexplicably happy!

He's not classically attractive (he looks a bit like Odo got better at mimicking humans or something), and MS looks better than 11, for some reason, and it totally took me by surprise, but yum. I told my roommate that if MS and KG are still stuck in the US by the volcano, they can totally come stay with us. *cough*

I've just added your journal to my reading list. I found you via Doctor Who and follow Friday.

You expect me to remember... er. I was going to say $number of years ago, but I have no idea what $number actually is. How long ago did I meet you? I don't actually know anymore.

(And you are missing an obvious tickybox: I hang out here because you are a horrible, horrible person who happens to be one of my best friends. ;)

Oh, by the way, thought of something - do you want any US-only DVDs for vidding? You can rip them on my Region 1 Mac, and then transfer the (not, as far as I can tell, region-locked) .vobs. You may - I'll test this on my Merlin DVDs - be able to reburn them to be the correct region for actual watching as well. All right, that might be more work than we'd like, but is LotS going to have a Region 2 DVD release?)

Yes, but I had met you before that, as you were on my friends list. (Terra limited my possible matches to people on my flist, because my journal was completely locked.)

Your Mac may be old enough to make the DVD drive region-free, so you may be able to play and rip Region 1 DVDs with a bit of work (but less work than ripping them on mine and transferring). What's the part number for your CD drive? (It's in the "about this computer", or whatever it's called, under the menu you access by clicking the top left Apple symbol on the notifications bar.)

It's only been three years? I would have totally guessed longer than that.

And, yes, that is flashable! Fair warning: making your DVD drive region free is at your own risk, and voids the warranty on the DVD drive. (However, if it were my computer, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Then again, I have no qualms voiding warranties.) If you want to, though, start here. (I'd say the macbook-fr.com one looks like your best bet.)

I'm so lame - I only just realised I could use my LJ to comment here. Trust the ticky boxes tempting me out of hiding!

Anyway, hi! And as to the last question, I'm a lot in love with Amy Pond right now, not just a bit. New Who makes me very happy. :D

Some other reason for keeping tabs on your journal: because all the cool kids are here. :D

I'm not sure if Sam counts as a mutual friend, or a mutual fandom, so I put down 'other' for that, too.

and I AM NOT CAUGHT UP TO DOCTOR WHO, WOE IS ME.

I just have no idea when we ended up on each other's flists! I mean, it's got to have been through HP, but I just don't know when! Or how!

(I got your e-mail, btw, and it's on my task list for this afternoon!)

Hee! I, like Ave, cannot remember exactly how or when we met, but it must have been through HP since that was how I got into fandom to begin with. Also, it was probably in 2006, since in 2005 I was still mostly lurking, heh.

I think it must have been HP, way back in the depths of Internet-time.
I might have only added you as a friend relatively recently, though. I do not remember! You are too naturally a part of my flist/dwircle.

Ack, I think I just accidentally shut my written up and unposted comment. *headdesk* Apologies if I've missed it appearing and am double posting, in any case.

I suspect I stumbled across you through your Merlin vids, but you're on my reading list because you write interesting posts, and you're one of the yay femslash and women people. They're awesome people. I like to gather them up, because I sometimes feel like I have years of a boyslash centric fan social circle to compulsively make up for, oh the deprivation. ;)
