Favourite Fics Meme

I am tagged by [livejournal.com profile] sunnyrea:

Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five fic-favourites you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.

-- The Tyranny of Petty Things (The Unconquered Skies Remix) [Harry Potter; Remus/Sirius]

This is my favourite of my Remus/Sirius stories on odd-numbered weekdays, or something. In other words, I found it really hard to pick just one, but I do like this fic a lot. Remus and Sirius are so comfortable and easy with each other here, I like to imagine they'd have been like this in this period, the beginning of OotP. I'm also very fond of the imagery that runs through this piece, and it was a lot of fun re-imagining [livejournal.com profile] rian219's wonderful original.

-- The Rumour Mill [Harry Potter; Ginny/Luna]

[livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest is one of the best ficathons I've participated in, and though my own story was far from the dizzy heights of some of the fics written for it, I'm fond of it. It's one of the shamefully few HP stories I've written that focuses on the girls, and there's nothing more fun than writing about Luna. You may have noticed I do a reasonable amount of snapshot-type fic, and I think it works well here, jumping from character to character.

-- I Heard A Whisper (The Way I Might Have Been) [Torchwood; Jack/Ianto]

Look ma, I wrote a plot! 10,000 words of parallel lives and twisty time travel and Jack and Ianto snarking at each other quite a bit, all of which makes me happy. This was such a complete pain to write, so it's satisfying to find I still like the way it turned out.

-- In An Interstellar Burst [Doctor Who; Rose/Martha, Donna]

Great dream team, or greatest dream team? :D Writing this was so completely indulgent, which I think in fandom is often only a good thing, and the idea of Rose, Martha and Donna cavorting around the universe is just fabulous. Plus, I got to recycle my abandoned [livejournal.com profile] churchontime story and have a cat-nuns-made-us-do-it marriage, and also Rose/Martha, which I ship so hard despite there being so little of it in fandom (or, um, canon either).

-- And Now, After All The Stars [Doctor Who/His Dark Materials; Will, Rose]

The two canons mesh very well, and it's the themes of both that struck me first - the idea of the adventures coming to an end, and what happens afterwards, of how you live your life and keep doing good things when you've seen the universe. Will and Rose have a lot in common, and I like the way I think they'd complement each other - Rose's brightness against Will's steadiness, and the two of them trotting around London or Oxford on days off. It also occurs to me, post-S4, that this may deserve a sequel, though whether I'll ever get around to writing it remains to be seen.

-- I'm not tagging anyone in particular, because I love reading this meme when other people do it, so please go ahead!
