So there's some show about some brothers you crazy kids watch?

So I think my thoughts on Supernatural thus far can be summed up as following:

I LOVE DEAN. And oh boy are they giving good Dean this season, all snarky and growly and competent and atheistic and loving his baby brother more than anything else ever omg. ♥

Show's still got serious issues with its women, colour me sadly unsurprised. The female-hell vs. male-heaven thing is kind of uber lame. And what happened to Ruby being awesome and having stuff to do and a Mysterious Agenda? In conclusion: needs moar Ellen.

SAM WINCHESTER IS THE ANTICHRIST. And is sekritly practising his powers! *wriggles in glee*

Wtf angels? EPIC. I'm seriously excited about this - I love me a good apocalypse! With bonus holy tax accountants, heh.

My squee was so intermittent last season, because I loved the myth-arc of S2 so very much and S3 never quite cut it for me, though hurray for episodes like 'Mystery Spot'. Now? MAH SQUEE IS BACK, I am pleased!

And finally:

"You built a panic room?"
"I had a weekend off."
"Bobby, you're awesome."

*draws hearts everywhere*

Just to check you've all seen the following: [livejournal.com profile] fleshflutter rewrites 4x01 as a Star Wars fusion and it is made of win.

A disturbing lack of faith by [livejournal.com profile] fleshflutter
A Jedi, a wookiee and a pilot walk into a bar...

The cross-casting and use of Star Wars canon is just inspired, plus it retells the story of the episode beautifully. The force is strong with this one!

I said almost this exact thing a couple of days ago. Why are most of the best demons women, and the only angel we've seen so far a guy? Maybe they wanted to distance themselves from Touched by an Angel and all that, but COME ON.

Of course, I have loved the female demons they've had, particularly Meg, season three Ruby, and "Sin City" demon. But that line in this week's episode about the demon dressing Meg like a slut when she wasn't slutty in the slightest? That's slut-shaming, and I won't have it.

Girl!Castiel would be fantastic. I might have to write fic of that, if only because I would love to read it. But yeah, I love Misha Collins, so I'm mildly conflicted on that part.

One of the reasons I like Ruby is that I feel like she's the closest the show has come to having a female character that bridges the gap between saint and whore. I mean, I'm less than thrilled with the current actress, but the concept of her is cool: the witch-turned-demon that's trying to help Sam but is maybe sacrificing innocents to do so. I'm hoping she gets better as the season passes.
