Torchwood 2x03: To The Last Man
Torchwood!
Well hello there, Neville's brother!
Eee, old school Torchwood were made of such posh, superior win, ahaha.
Oh, Tosh. Faffing around with a dress and things, you go girl. She is so my TV girlfriend, just so you know. ♥
I really like the concept of a guy who's only awake for one day a year. And other than that, this is sort of a revamped version of the last bit of the Prisoner of Azkaban plot, isn't it? Except with more time fissures and less twinkly-eyed old men and hippogriffs.
*snort* at Gwen's "bloody cheer up, will you?" line! So what, this series we now get Ianto of the week, for no particular reason, and this week was emo!Ianto? Huh, ok.
Tosh is seriously the cutest thing ever, eee! "It's all just angles... velocity..." now I want fic where she's a pool hustler. Tommy is also adorable, and oh why does he have to be a frozen WW1 soldier, hmm? Them running around on the pier and him calling her a "daft lass" and everything, it's all really lovely. Which, as we know, means nothing but Doom and Despair.
Tosh/Owen? I say yes!
Oh look, Jack/Ianto, now with added feelings! I confess I had to pause and do a little flaily dance after that scene, because it was rather unexpected yet great. :D
Overall, if it wasn't for all the Tosh I don't think I would have enjoyed this as much - just feels like we've had quite a few war stories now, you know? And this one didn't really stand out to me from all of those, though Tommy was wonderful.
Next week: alien donner kebab, what? Ahahaha, that looks entirely ridiculous, I can't wait.

Gwen's "bloody cheer up" line was my favourite part, I think. EXCEPT FOR ALL THE OTHER AWESOME PARTS.

Probably didn't get laid. :P

I loved the episode but spent most of it going 'oh' in an upset voice because it was all going to go wrong :(

And I agree with you that they have done a lot of the war stories. We had the flash back to WW1 in "Small Worlds," "Captain Jack Harkness," and now this one. Granted that is only 3 but I guess it just feels like a lot because they feel similar. I kept seeing the parallels between Tosh and Jack in falling in love with someone in a past war who is going to die soon after they leave.
I knew the Jack/Ianto kiss was in this one because I am spoiler whore... <_< But I didn't know it would be so lovely! And the Tosh/Owen is slowly creeping in, isn't it? I rather like the slow path for them so I am glad of that in this episode!

Yeah, and with main Who as well, it's kinda becoming an overused time period, I think anyway.
I was not expecting it at all! Although, is it very sad I guessed in advance it was going to happen because of they were wearing the clothes from the trailer? Oh dear! But :D :D :D and Jack basically said 'I love you!'
I want an Owen episode now, I think. He's obviously trying to be a decent person and get Tosh at the end of it, which is an arc I think I can subscribe to!

I adored Tosh's dress, and this entire episode because she was so brave and lovely and heartbroken. *weep*
I also madly loved the Jack/Ianto kiss which I knew nothing of beforehand and was very happy about. I may, in fact, have rewound the tape so I could watch it again. Jack fairly much admitted love! And I especially liked that it was Ianto who went in for the kiss.
I'm also enjoying this new slightly reformed Owen with his being nice, and supportive to Tosh lark. I approve. If she can't have frozen soldier boy she can have Owen.
*weep*

I totally did the same thing with that scene, hahaha. And then danced around a little bit. Ah, the writers are good to us.
Yes, provided he continues to behave himself! I like how he's obviously consciously trying to be a better person, it's rather endearing.
