Recs & 15 Characters Meme

butterfly's made a gorgeous Doctor Who & Torchwood video to Savage Garden's Affirmation (which is a great song, don't deny it), which does a wonderful job of capturing all the joy of the shows and also fitting the lyrics of the song to the clips, sometimes to very entertaining effect. And, I'll admit, it left me a little teary at the end there. Watch it here.
Also, I am just checking that there isn't anyone on my flist with a passing familiarity with Torchwood that hasn't already read the following. Seventeen pages of comments and counting, but with good reason.

Honestly, that's the most hilarious thing I have ever read in this fandom. :D
And finally, I've never actually done this meme before, but always love playing with other people's, so!
1) Make a list of 15 characters and assign each character a number.
2) Without telling anyone who's on the list or the character's assigned number, get questions from your flist about what they'd like to know about them, i.e. "If 3 and 4 were trapped in a cave together with only a blanket and a toothpick, what would they do?"
3) Post the list of characters and answers to the questions.

Anyway, I've just watched the video rec (I get round to everything eventually) and how smile-inducingly lovely. It was wonderful to realise how much I really care about all the characters in the verse (even Gwen, who is wonderful when she's not mooning over Jack).
I was specially squee-y over the Micky/Jake - I love Jake to an unexplainable extent (possibly due to me being completely mocked for stating at the end of his first episode that the character was gay and in love with Ricky - I love being proved right in the end :D). I must go and track down some good Micky/Jake fic when my dissertations done. :D :D

Ooh, you caught that one? Nicely done! I loved that we got lots of Mickey in this video - I was just rewatching Boom Town (for, um, srs research purposes, obviously) and he really is very excellent, and he goes on a fantastic character arc.

I adore Micky, it's because he is a Smith - they come second only to Joneses in Rhian's Law of Whoverse, and you are right - such a cool character arc. Actually, as much as I've missed Rose, I miss Micky and Jackie so much more.
Something I've been wondering about recently is that between Micky leaving the Doctor and Rose in Age of Steel and then coming back in Army of Ghosts, three years passes for him - it's not clear how much time passed for the Doctor and Rose but I don't think it's supposed to be anywhere near that long. There's clearly some time difference going on between dimensions - so I'm really intrigued about how long will have passed for Rose before the end of Series 4, that's something that could be really interesting to play with in the show. I'm really hope we get massive character development for her. :D
