So the internet is gearing up for new Torchwood tonight, and I am super excited to have my team back! However, EVERYONE'S THEORISING IS FREAKING ME OUT.

So, the stuff I have been reading is not based on spoilers, as far as I know, and I am one of the least-spoiled people in the whole of fandom, feels like. (And I like it that way!) But I am not happy about this prevalent thought of Ianto dying, not even a little bit. Partly, obviously, from a character/shipping/in-universe perspective, but mostly because I really would prefer it if we didn't have any more dead queers on this show, argh. D:

Still, this has now set the bar for my enjoyment of this series ridiculously low: if I am not dead on TV come Friday I'll consider it a winner!

Though I desperatly wish to see more Jack, Gwen, Ianto - espeically in a high action, complicated adventure such as this - I think the unhappiness of primary character death (with bonus beautiful-fags-die) outweighs that. Though if I'm forewarned, maybe I'll be able to watch it w/o too much trauma.

I really don't get why people think killing off primary characters is fun. :(

Who the hell is theorizing that? No fucking way. I would KILL someone. I would kill RTD or at least hire a hitman. They can't, seriously, they can't. It would crush my little Ianto-is-my-favorite-character heart.

I mean, yes, I have learned to love Gwen and of course I like Jack but Ianto is my boy, he's my baby. I neeeeeeed him.

(On a slightly different note: James Moran changed his Twitter profile pic to the Children of Earth promo pic with him photoshopped in behind Gwen & Jack (in case you haven't seen it), and it wasn't until I looked at it that it hit me that TOSH & OWEN ARE GONE D: (shut up, I like my Land of Denial just fine). I can't believe how unspoiled I am... Last series I couldn't resist spoilers at all, haha.

I've read the Ianto-rumour, though. But for now I'm refusing to believe it's true. I mean, surely they can't kill yet another main character? And especially not so soon after Tosh and Owen. I love Jack and I even like Gwen (more and more, actually), but I'm not sure I'd watch the Jack&Gwen show. (Unless they brought in (a version from this universe of) Jake from DW. He did work for TW in the parallel universe, after all. :P )

Don't you think though that last time we knew by now about Tosh and Owen, I know there was a little doubt, but this rumour this time doesn't seem to hold as much water. Still we shall see.

I live in the UK and haven't even seen tonight's yet, I have a house guest so have just gotten in. I will be watching all on Friday as a marathon. (Thank you iplayer) Then I can watch again, as said up thread, once we know for sure, we can relax and watch. (I would put some money on it not being true, unless it's a sci fi death, ie not permanent)

I LOVED THE EPISODE SO MUCH. ♥

I haven't read many spoilers (yet), so I'm pretty much in the dark as to what's going to happen, but I'm a firm non-believer of the "Ianto will die"-rumour. I don't think it would be a smart move (especially not so soon after Owen and Tosh), if they're still hoping for a fourth season -which they still are. They know that a major part of the fans adore not just Ianto, but also the Jack/Ianto-pairing. They tried killing him off twice and twice, they changed their minds because the character was so popular. I don't think they'd try a third time, let alone really go through with it.

And I don't think that Gareth would be the one to ask for Ianto's death either. He knows that he's got a fantastic job that still allows him to work on his music and other things and a massive fanbase. He wouldn't give all that up - especially not now we're getting to see more of Ianto's background and feelings (WHICH I LOVED SEEING TODAY).

I'm going to check all spoilers now, though, because I totally need to be prepared. And if it does turn out to be true, and Ianto snuffs it- I will declare war on RTD I think that's pretty much me over and done for with Torchwood. I probably wouldn't even finish watching CoE, and I'd definitely wouldn't watch season four because I don't think I could stand watching just Gwen and Jack and a few random new people (altough I'm very much rooting for Lois Habiba to become part of the team!).

I've seen the "Ianto retcons himself"-theory go around quite a bit too, though. That I would like, but only if halfway through season four, there's this major archiving crisis and they totally need to get him back. Or something along those lines.

Yep, this is the only spoiler I've read. Honestly I think (hope?) I'll deal with it well so long as it's done in a good way. However, if falling through drapery is involved... ;)
