And hi, I seem to have been friended recently! And it occurs to me there's now a whole bunch of people on my flist who I don't know nearly well enough - whether you're from thehogwarts_elite friending meme or from elsewhere recently, I confess I haven't got everyone straightened out from everybody else. To borrow a Baggins-ism, I don't know half of you half as well as I should like.

02. What fandoms are you in, in any capacity? Harry Potter, sort of? I'm not big on "fandom" but I enjoy a lot of books/movies/tv shows...
03. What are your favourite characters, ships, eras in said fandoms? Dumbledore, The Weasley family, Neville, Luna, Hermione, ... Really, I like *most* of the characters. As for ships, I'm perfectly content with canon.

04 - yay Doctor Who! *fangirls forever* And I just this minute finished watching the first episode of Heroes, as it's being broadcast over here now, and that was rather exciting.

02. What fandoms are you in, in any capacity? Doctor Who (new), Lost, and Harry Potter. That's pretty much it... but I tend to go through phases, so it changes often. :)
03. What are your favourite characters, ships, eras in said fandoms? In Doctor Who, I've only seen New!Who and I'm a Doctor/Rose shipper. Heh. I swear, I'm not one of the crazy ones though! Favorite characters from there would be the Doctor (especially 10, but I love 9 too) and Captain Jack (!!) and I have a fondness for Rose. As far as Lost goes, I'm a Kate/Sawyer shipper. :D My favorite characters from Lost would be: Sawyer, Desmond and Sayid. (notice a trend with pretty men with accents?) And as far as Harry Potter goes, I don't actively ship anyone. Well, I kind of like Ron/Hermione, but I don't really read any fanfiction about them or anything. Favorite characters: Hermione, Luna, ALL Weasleys (even Percy), and Remus.
04. Favourite books, actors, music, films etc? Crikey. Um... I like semi-pretentious movies and music... heh. Progressive Rock is really my style, but I enjoy some more mainstream stuff and classic rock as well. I like indie movies and movies that are a bit "odd" (eg: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Memento, Moulin Rouge, Brick), but I also really like classic movies (like Casablanca). I also tend to watch a lot of BBC miniseries because I'm lame like that. As far as books go, I'm all over the board. I adore Donald Miller (a thought provoking and funny Christian writer), CS Lewis (I'm reading the Space Trilogy right now), Harry Potter (duh), LOTR, Charles Dickens (I'm dead serious. I love Dickens. I think he's hilarious), Jane Austen, Doestoevsky or really whatever I happen to be reading at the moment. I don't really have any favorite actors, although I really admire a lot of Johnny Depp's work.
05. Other interests? History! I'm double majoring in history and English, so I'm a bit of a geek in those respects. I also really love to travel. Oh, and I like really cheesy reality TV (namely Project Runway and So You Think You Can Dance). Does Disneyland count as an interest? Cause I love D-land. I have an annual pass and go fairly often.
06. What am I likely to come across in your journal? Whatever is on my mind at the moment. I get bored at work and that's when I update my journal or during the school year I update while I'm procrastinating on something I'm supposed to be doing for school. There's a good chance that my entries will be something to do with some fandom or TV show or something like that, but it also could be some philosophy or idea that I've been thinking about. A bit about my life, but my life is pretty boring so probably not a whole lot on that front.
07. If you post about RL things, what's going on in your life at the moment? I am working at the world's more boring job. Well, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it is pretty boring, but I am getting paid pretty well for it. I'm going camping in a week so when I get back, I'll probably write about that. And then I go back to college at the end of September. I'm hoping to study abroad the year after this one, so yeah... fingers crossed. I have to start applying this fall.
08. And finally, how are you today? Excited. Because I get off work in 50 minutes and then it's the weekend! Hurrah!! And now... I'd better get back to actually doing my job. heh.

But for the time I chill at home. My car broke down about a month ago so I have no way of getting around, so for the most part I just hang out with my best friend Mike, who I also have a ridiculous crush on. I blather on about him a lot. And I have 3 cats, one of which is currently ill.

X-Files - Scully is my favourite character, and the only pairing I have ever shipped is Mulder/Scully.
Harry Potter - Snape! Neville! I love Hermione too.

Seriously, I'm a women's studies student so I'm very into activism in that direction, I just inherited a car so I'm back driving which I love, and I spend a lot of my time playing with my baby cousin who I live with.

At the moment I'm drowning in fandom squeege so lots of that, stuff about my everyday life and occasional rants when something irritates me.

The absence of money is a big issue. My cousin has just gone back to work which means I'm taking a lot of solo responsibility for the baby, which is a bit frightening, and there are a couple of things I'm not allowed to talk about yet but are taking up lots of my time.

Favourite books, actors, music, films etc? books are tricky, and in constant flux... um, some of my all time favorites are "I know this much is true" by wally lamb, "Confessions or an Ugly Stepsister" and "Wicked" By Gregory Macguire, "Otherland" by Tad Williams. Actors? Kevin Spacey is my favorite evar! Music? is my passion; my loves are a lot of low fi and indi music; we're talking The Mountain Goats, Magnetic Fields, The Shins, Wilco, Regina Spektor, the Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, Guster... uh, those are just the ones I've seen live in the past year! ;) Films? 07. If you post about RL things, what's going on in your life at the moment? I'm currently enjoying my summer holidays. I start my second holiday job next week and after that I'm hoping to go on exchange to Amsterdam. If not, then I'll start my third year at uni in Leuven.

02. What fandoms are you in, in any capacity? Oh well obviously I am very into Harry Potter since that is how we met but beyond that, as you also know, I have a bit of a niche in Torchwood. I am also active in Doctor Who, Pirates of the Caribbean online. Beyond that I'm a bit anime geek, particularly animes like Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Gravitation, Fruits Basket, Trinity Blood... I could go on. I am also an X-files fan, Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Grey Atatomy, Eureka... I think that about covers it
03. What are your favourite characters, ships, eras in said fandoms? Oh crap, well I am still a Remus/Sirius shipper even after the last book. I am big into the Marauder era of Potter as well. The last book made me a bit of Snape/Lily unrequited fan. Prior to the last book I was a Harry/Ron, Severus/Remus, and Hermione/Ginny but those have faded some. I also ship Gillette/Norrington in Pirates. Jack/Ianto and sometimes Ianto/Owen if it's well done in Torchwood. I also am a big fan of

Music wise Dave Matthews Band is about my favorite as well as Barenaked Ladies, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, The Bealtes, The Smiths, The Shins, Moxy Fruvous, Fiona Apple, Join Mitchell. (I think I may be giving you waaaay too much info :-p) I dunno if I can pick a film but Tom Hanks tends to be my favorite actor along with people like Johnny Depp, Kevin Spacey, Tom Hollander, Robin Williams, Kate Blanchet, Kate Winslett

02. What fandoms are you in, in any capacity?
Only really Dr Who, thought I sort of float around the peripheries of HP, Stargate, Firefly and Sandman. Does Good Omens have a fandom? Does reading any and all Azriphale/Crowley fic count as being part of it?
03. What are your favourite characters, ships, eras in said fandoms?
Dr Who...well old school my favourite Drs are 2 & 7 and my favourite companions are Susan, Zoe, Jamie, Jo, Sarah Jane and Ace, and it's really all about the femmeslash there, though in the new school end I come over a bit 9/Rose or else 9/Rose/Jack and Martha has been wonderful this year. Stargate, I'm years behind in terms of episodes, but Sam's my favourite character and I'm shamelessly Sam/Jack shipper. Harry Potter...Favourite characters, Luna, Neville, Hermione, Draco, Remus, Sirius, Severus, Tonks. ships vary with what I stumble across that's convincingly written though I'm loyally Remus/Sirius with a soft spot for Marauder era... Firefly...Kaylee > everyone. River is Delirium from Sandman made mortal and flesh.

Books: Hitchhikers, Pride & Prejudice, pretty much anything written by messers Verne, Wells, Gaiman, Pratchett and Palahnuik. Music: Manics, Snow Patrol, Foo Fighters, Ramones, Portishead, Reel Big Fish, odd little bands from Canada. Films: Breakfast at Tiffany's, Some Like It Hot, Battle Royale, Leon, Dogma, Secretary, Serenity, the entire works of messers Gilliam, Besson and Wood...I used to be a film student so the list could go on for a very long time. I don't really watch tv outside of the stuff mention above and Jossverse stuff, but I am a sucker for old school tv a la Man From UNCLE and the Avengers (Emma Peel hit me on the head with a mortar board when I graduated...). I'm also a sucker for actors/actresses with good/interesting voices.

Gender studies, film theory, travel, photography, teaching myself to cook, history, knitting, comics and things I don't understand.

Rambles, rants, fic, photographs of places I've been and things I've made, news & current affairs, gig/music/film/book reviews.

There's 32 days and 15,000 words between me and my dissertation being finished and I'm on antibiotics for a dental abscess so I'm not posting a lot because I'm so cranky I annoy myself.

Hey, I friended you last week but I suck at life so forgot to say-hi we met at the pub (the Irish pub with the two guys) on the first night of Sectus. I'm Bex, 19 years old, Essex/London (uni), erm Ravenclaw/Slytherin.
02. What fandoms are you in, in any capacity?
Harry Potter...most often as a lurker but I am trying to change this. I did use to write but it was very, very crappy. I'm also about to plunge into the Supernatural fandom.
03. What are your favourite characters, ships, eras in said fandoms?
Sirius, Snape, Remus, Draco, James, Lily. I'm a massive Snarry shipper but also fond of Sirius/Remus, Bill/Harry and Draco/Harry. Basically it's all about the slash! And I don't really know in the supernatural fandom yet-but I am madly in love with both Sam and Dean if that helps.
04. Favourite books, actors, music, films etc?
Erm...Books: Harry Potter (obviously), Lord of the Rings, Diane Wynne Jones and Garth Nix stuff. Actors:Viggo Mortensen, Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, John Barrowman, David Tennant. Films:Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean (it's all about the trilogies!). Basically big action epics with good looking men. Music-I play instruments and sing and listen to anything and everything (although my favourites are film scores and musicals)

Well it used to be lots of RL but mainly because I had a lot of R.L friends who read my journal but they've all moved onto facebook. So some R.L but I'm trying for more recs and stuff like that.

Uni, trying to find somewhere to live and the drama of my lovelife...which isn't actually very exciting at all.
