Reason for IM name: MERF = maniacal ER freak, name given to me by a friend who thought that I was was too obsessed with ER (this was about four years ago). I mentioned the nickname on a forum (for ER, lol) that I went to and it stuck. Some of my LJ friends that I met through that ER board still call me MERF more than Amanda.
