Hm - was going to do a fic round up post, but in all honesty I'm not thrilled with my writing output this year. I feel it's mostly marked by the things I didn't write - the big bangs I signed up for, that Late Bloom sequel, all the other bits of WIPs sitting on my computer. Alas.

But briefly, I think Remember Me As A Time Of Day (Merlin, Gwen/Morgana) is my best story, and And Tomorrow (Torchwood, Jack/Ianto, CoE fix-it) is my personal favourite for what are probably obvious reasons. I'm also fond of Someone Else's Shoes (Torchwood, Tosh, Gwen) and Something Old, Something New (Merlin, Arthur/Merlin, Arthur/Gwen, Gwen/Morgana).

I do feel like doing the vid round up meme, though - vidding was good this year! Also, it means I can procrastinate on festvidding some more.

My favourite video this year (of my own): Well, it has to be Glorious, really. VID OF MY SOUL, etc etc. I am so, so pleased that other people liked it too, but really, it was mostly for me.

My least favourite video this year: Oh What A World - I shouldn't have rushed it so much, the idea got a bit wasted.

Most successful video: In 'omgwtf how many comments?' category, We Go Together. In the 'omgwtf, people still talk about/remember this?' category, Glorious.

Video most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: None, I've been completely spoiled by feedback this year. Interestingly looking back, though, the reaction to The Good Old Days was not quite what I was expecting - it was really great and I'm glad that it had emotional resonance for people, but I don't think anyone actually picked up on what I thought the vid was about, not entirely. Which is my fault as a vidder, or maybe it's just connections and ideas there were in my head and impossible to translate, who knows. But for me, the vid is about turning back time, about saying that in fact we can go back and reject all the sad things that came later - Jack represents the viewer in the context of the vid, or he did for me.

Most fun video: We Go Together, easily. I basically wriggled with glee the entire time I was editing that. WA-OOH, YEAH! :D

Video with single sexiest moment: Well, I think Many Hands is pretty hot. *g* Somewhat weirdly, it's the Cylon hand crossfade at 0:38 that I like the best, though the shot of Willow at the end is more obviously hot.

Biggest vid fail: Not getting the T:TSCC vid I signed up for in Free-For-All done in a timely fashion. Next year, next year!

Hardest video to make: Emotionally, The Good Old Days. I kind of cried my way through editing that, it was a bit embarrassing. Many Hands gave me a lot of technical difficulties, and there was also the part where [personal profile] avendya emailed me back and told me I needed to change the song. (She was right.)

Most unintentionally telling video: I don't know about unintentionally, but Many Hands pretty much broadcasts my interests in girls! hand-holding! robots! Which, well. True. I don't even know what Bad Romance says about me, hahaha. I am not ashamed!

The things I've learned this year: I do not, in fact, totally suck. It's been quite exciting this year, vidding-wise, because I can feel myself getting better. I moved over to FCE and have started to add a few new tricks to my repertoire, and I feel much more confident in knowing where to cut and putting a story together - I don't think I could have made Handlebars a year ago, for instance, even though it's quite simple. I've learned that I have to have some kind of emotional desire to make a vid or it won't get finished, I have to care about the idea.

For 2010: I need to teach myself more stuff in Final Cut, and I'm hoping to try a couple of slightly more ambitious projects. Also, I am determined to submit something to Vividcon, hopefully a Club Vivid and a Premiere. Currently the possible future vid list includes a multifandom femslash dance vid, a multifandom visual parallel vid, a Dee & Gaeta vid, a creepy/dark Harry Potter vid and a Legend of the Seeker vid about Kahlan and the Confessors.
