Doctor Who 11x03
Enjoyed last week's but didn't have time/enough to say for a post.
I loved this. It was great to feel relaxed going in, knowing it was Malorie Blackman, and unsurprisingly I thought she did an incredible job.
This was such a *tense* episode - although we know history won't be altered and that Team TARDIS will be fine, there were so many scenes when I felt very anxious for everyone involved.
I was so deeply moved by everything, but a few moments in particular:
+ Ryan joining Rosa's meeting and getting to meet Martin Luther King
+ Rosa's nod to Ryan as she's being taken away
+ Ryan and and Yaz's conversation about the different kinds of racism they've experienced
+ Everything about Vinette Robinson's performance - she just oozed steely determination and it was amazing. Also for anyone else wondering, she was on Doctor Who once before in '42' in season 3!
Despite my lingering frustration at Grace's death in the first episode, I find the way they're writing Ryan and Graham's grief to work really well for me. I loved "I wish she was here." / "I don't, she would have started a riot."
Also, the Doctor is maybe Banksy?? What a dork, I love her.
