re. Pond Life & episode 1
As a heads-up - today's Pond Life is a more obvious lead-in to the episode and so may feel spoilery if you're avoiding build up for Saturday.
If you have seen it, some discussion under the cut which also includes spoilers for episode 1 that come from actor interviews, preview clips, episode summaries, "spoiler free" reviews and also some set reports. So pretty spoilery, from a character arc POV anyway. I have no idea what actually happens in the main plot.
OH GOD I KNOW. I have been freaking out about this for months, unfortunately, because I first heard about Pond marital strife quite a while back. D:
It is not okay, but here's what I can tell you:
+ They are fighting, badly, like breaking up levels badly and I don't know why and I don't know if it's artificially induced somehow or they are genuinely having huge problems. Apparently some of it is related to the events of Demon's Run. ;_;
+ BUT. It is a one-episode plotline. By the end of Saturday's episode they have reconciled, and will be back to being happily married in future episodes. Footage taken by fans watching them film shows them watching the TARDIS leave before Amy saying something to Rory that makes him jump up and down with glee before running back into the house.
+ So basically tomorrow night sounds painful as hell but then they're going to be okay again.
+ *curls up in blanketfort* DD:
eta: actually if anyone needs me I'll just be staring at these filming photos from episode 5 (spoilery for characters but not plot) from now until forever because HAPPY LOVELY PONDS YES GOOD.

Okay, okay, if they are going to be okay by the end of the ep I can live with it, even though it's going to be wrenching to watch. I suppose, as I think on it, that if my partner and I had a baby who was stolen away as an infant and we never got to raise her (at least not knowingly), that might put some strain on the marriage eventually. But they'll work it out! They will! <3

I know, I know - I mean, it wouldn't be fun to watch but I am okay with exploring the ramifications of all of that, just -- not such bad ramifications! oh god!
But she's Amy, he's Rory, and they're going to be absolutely fine.

I just have a hard time seeing Amy and Rory getting into a fight this big, even if they resolve it. It seems really out of character for them, although I guess they have been through a lot and under a lot of stress.

I wasn't even aware they knew how to have a proper fight let alone one that would end with Rory leaving. He sat with a massive cube for 2000 years and she remembered him when he was physically erased from the universe.
It boggles my mind.
