Even though Pepper isn't aesthetically the sort of woman I'd generally want to see paired with Natasha, the characterization works for me, and this ficlet really captured the parts of their personalities that make me want to see more of the pairing--esp. the way that there's an interplay of hard and soft in them both--in the words of the fic.
