Augh I wanted to love this (and I did, some), I did, but it starts so infuriatingly! Also I can't buy that slap when it's followed by the clone-flirting. WAY TO NOT MAKE SENSE :/

Right, totally. All of those elements were cheap and rather tacky and out of character. The show definitely has its problems, but normally I expect a little better than that!

...actually, I could swear I read that exact driving anecdote in a fic already.

I kinda take Amy as the kind of person who will do a little smacking around as flirting, though usually on the arse. It didn't look like a hard slap at all, and it read to me as a 'well, we'd better do what the nice police officer said' sort of neither of them were surprised and just going with the flow thing.
