Good post. I'm very tired of being told I'm "just rubbernecking" simply because I'm not in SPN fandom. The discussion stopped being about SPN pretty fast. I'm also grateful for the link about the h/c thing, because I saw a bingo card floating around last week and it made me uncomfortable, but I couldn't articulate why, and I've seen mention of it since, but not an actual discussion, so I'm off to read now.
