I did not expect to finish this episode a sobbing wreck! Aa;slkdja;lskj What?! That was unbearably tragic. RORY. AMY FORGETTING. NO.

It was a great episode, and the Doctor's crush on Nasreen is amazing, AND SHE DIDN'T DIE. YAY. AND IS GOING TO BE AWESOME AND THE AMBASSADOR OF HUMANITY IN 1000 YEARS.

But, but, RORY.

And I know, I know, Significant Engagement Ring, this isn't quite the end of it, but I'm not feeling that optimistic about everything magically being fixed. What a complete, total midseason mindfuck - everything's changed, now.

I'll just be over here, though, continuing to sob uncontrollably. D:

I would be sad about Rory if I wasn't so seriously unimpressed with the fact that women in this episode were consistently presented as evil, stupid, weak, selfish - even Any fails to remember Rory in the end. Nasreen is focused on the advantages for humanity from sharing the planet. The reptilian women want war and destruction, and must be controlled by the wisdom of their men. Ambrose is foolish and selfish, and rightfully judged by her son, husband, and father. Everything that goes wrong is a woman's fault.

The ONLY THING comforting me is that Nasreen did not die and YAY FOR MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN OF COLOUR GETTING TO GO BE AWESOME YES YES YES <3333 and if I think about that then I don't have to worry so much about my heart maybe eroding. D:

(I was really starting to honestly love Rory in these episodes, too -- he was getting a sort of quiet confidence that was really beautiful. MOFFAAAAAAAAT.)
