This felt like my show again. ♥ Oh, I loved it - REAL ALIEN PLANET WITH REAL ALIENS and awesome ensemble (Nathan and Barkley the UNIT privates, bless!) and the Doctor and Nimueh fighting crime aliens!

And when Christina sailed off in the end on that bus, back on Earth, with all that joy, OH my heart. Because it was all about coming home, and wonder of ordinary things (well, apart from the flying bit *g*), and YES. This is my show.

Also, Leverage watchers - Christina and Parker do crime, y/y/mfy? With ziplines and flying buses and leather and probably hot makeouts. Someone should write that for me.

eta: Oh, and Turn Left's Captain Magambo coming back, EXCELLENT recurring character choice there, PTB! She is marvellous.

For me it made up for the rubbishness of The Next Doctor. It was just fun, really and you need that sometimes when a show like Doctor Who can get as dark as it does.

I really liked Christina and her ending left me with a big grin on my face. I like grinning at Sci-Fi, it doesn't happen much sometimes. I loved Malcom as well. Just fun and adorable, though I really thought he was actually going to snog Ten. Capatain Magambo was rather cool, too. I'd like to see her back again as well...bags of potential there.

I do love the overlap in actors between Merlin and Doctor Who. It's like a little bonus cracky crossover fic thrown in for our amusement.

I felt better about the Doctor after this one. He seemed a tiny bit less broken by the end of it, though that may have been the sheer euphoria of the flying bus.

I LOVED IT! Really loved it.

The only thing that makes me sad is that this isn't leading to a whole season with Christina as the companion - dragging the Doctor into adventures and being morally ambiguous. I want people to write much AU fic where this happens.

This really was Ten as I like him best, which is a shame as the angst levels will presumably gear up again from the next special. Alas.
