The women of Torchwood don't quite see things that way. They're mostly too busy fighting aliens to actively campaign for the suffrage movement, but Jack gets back from war just in time to see Harriet Derbyshire cast her first electoral vote and it's pretty fantastic, watching history unfold. That bit made me want to cheer.
