Recs! These both fall into the category of 'write what you know', which is an AWESOME category of fic that I really love, yet feel strangely self-conscious about trying myself. But here's how to do it!

A New Low by

rosemaryandrue (Merlin, Arthur/Merlin, Gwen/Morgana)
Written for this prompt at kinkme_merlin, which asked for diabetic!Merlin stuck in a lift with Arthur. It grew from there.

Given what's been going on with me the past couple of weeks, this was JUST what the doctor ordered! It's a delightful modern AU with great characters, a ton of geek references and a very sweet developing relationship.

Heel Turn by

brownbetty (Star Trek Reboot, Kirk, Sulu, ensemble)
Eventually, they discover it's all McCoy's fault. "What!" he protests. "He came to me with his hand sliced open from that damn pig-sticker of his, and I told him to find a hobby with fewer monomolecular edges! It's sound medical advice!"

OH MAN, I miss the tone of this fandom so much, and this totally delivers. SULU! *draws all the hearts* But everyone gets to be awesome in this.
